AnonD-5119, 30 Nov 2011No one cares about WP7 ? hahahaha cut me up if doesnt take ... morethe problem is that even if it takes market share it will be same crap as iOs and android.. All app-centric. WP destroyed WinMobile platform which as able to run real productivity applications. What i mean - i had an ancient iPaq4700 (build by HTC btw) based on windows mobile OS. Somehow i was able to run software to connect to command interface of any switch and router i was maintaining and do some work with my handheld device only. Goodluck to do this with iPhone or simillar device now. Communication interfaces are broken "to the ground". I believed Meego might be the future... well i was wrong.

AnonD-5119, 30 Nov 2011No one cares about WP7 ? hahahaha cut me up if doesnt take ... moreSimple test go to your work/school/college/university ect. as ask them have they heard of android or iOS. Then ask them about windows phone mango. You'll see how many say yes, and those who say yes ask them what they think of it. In my class a single guy heard of it and he heard that it was quite crap.
I am not saying WP7 is bad i'm just saying no one cares about it.

Ryan, 29 Nov 2011I wonder why android fanboys keep on commenting to Nokia Ph... moreUs Android fans boys would LOVE to jump to MeeGo and Nokia. But the fact is that Nokia killed the N9 and MeeGo before it was even born. That's why we're complaining - because we really want to like the N9 and MeeGo. We support open source and what Nokia originally wanted to do. But when the N9 is the last MeeGo phone from Nokia and Nokia has said it only wants to play with WP7, the N9 is pretty much dead now...RIP

Haha. Just found it humorous..An Android fanboy posting that maemo 6 is a dead OS. Does'nt Android do that with oh, every release? Don't come to us if the generic design of your smartphone can't get your wang up. Take it up with the people who make your phone. I wonder how much support the iphone or android models would get once they hit "discontinued" territory. That's what I like about the N9. "Dead"? Maybe..but far from gone. And what it does, it does with a style and panache that a lot of "still living" phones can't muster. Voted with my wallet and got myself an N9.
I came from an iphone and really don't see how a gazillion apps really improve my existence. A few thousand apps give one choices but most after that is gravy. Nokia isn't perfect but I definitely think the Fins came close with the n9. The preloaded apps deliver almost everything I want and use and the few that are on or coming to the market will address my other needs. Great reception is another boon as I live in a country where signal gets sketchy at times..at least on my iphone, it did.
Meltemi might be another thing to look forward too as well. I have a strong feeling that app compatibility between Meltemi and Maemo will be a non-issue. Nokia has shown that it intends to bring smartphone features to low end phones. What better way to get developers interested in contributing to an ecosystem than having a few million phones out in the market for them to target? Nokia has also directly invested in making some great apps for the N9, something they would be foolish not to leverage. So the signs are there for those who care to read.

Bailey, 29 Nov 2011Sorry i think that statment should be the other way round.
... moreIt's a shame because just like meego no one cares about either of them. HTC used to be the platform for Windows phone OS, and no one cares about it.
Going for Android was their winning move. It hurts to say but no one cares for WP7 or Meego

AnonD-1268, 29 Nov 2011I dont think the world will EVER forgive Nokia for ditching... moreSorry i think that statment should be the other way round.
The reason why i say that is once you get past the sliding you finger from edge to edge and only 3 home screens there is nothing else that makes the phone stand out. Plus it still sticks to the formula of row after row of icons which is what iOS and Android do. Also it is still press and icon to get in and out of an icon with a little bit of slide. WP7 takes on a something new as i can go it the people hub and perform 7 tasks without having to come out of it.

I got 2 of these phones for me and my wife. And the best thing about them is that I do not have to deal with Apple, Google and Microsoft.
