To all the people complaining about the UI, mention 3 intuitively designed app stores.

Simpler? I dont feel any simplicity from it. Come on Google. You can design One UI for Samsung but what is this clutter mess in Play Store? There are too much going on in a single page. Even if you want to market certain apps doesnt mean you need to cramp everything there. The apps' name dont even appear completely since its too long and cramped.

Old news. 12.7.23 is the version on my pixel 2.

This "news" is at least a week old and the new UI sucks. It was white before, now it's just white everywhere.

Also, the app info page is simply horrible - it's impossible to follow it.

I been had this, in fact I had it couple of weeks ago.

Just add a damn black color (not dark) for those of us who use an AMOLED display with white or red text color.

Playstore is too cartoony 😫 It doesn't need to be that overdone, needs to be more simplified and the plain white and green is just boring. Even samsung appstore looks better.

Walter C. Dornez, 01 Dec 2018Oh I hope so. Might make iOS actually make one too thenApple already has a kinda-dark-mode. It's called smart invert, which was released with iOS 11, but it isn't really a true dark mode because it still has problems and the app developers have to specifically support it. On the other hand, as apps are not used that much on a Mac and Apple already has many functions with their own apps pre-installed, the latest MacOS 10.14 Mojave has a true dark mode and it works great. For example, the just-redesigned app-store is entirely dark when turned on, and many UI elements are darkened as well. This might as well be great for the eyes I guess.

I don't use Android but as far as I know, and as I read from your comments, Material Design is making big parts of the UI white. This also means, if a dark mode comes out, it will make the same spaces which are now white to be black, so more black spaces -> less pixels on an oled screen to be lit -> longer battery life

Nzi97, 01 Dec 2018Next is dark modeWell, considering Google has recently announced that it believes that dark (or black) themes or UI elements help towards better battery life (which is something most Android users have known for years), it seems a bit stupid for them (Google) to keep trying to shove 'Material Design' down our throats. C'mon Google, give us users the option to select dark (or any colour) themes across the entire Android eco-system, Apps included. 'Material Design' is so, yesterday. Put to bed already.

The Apple app store is way nicer and more organized than this BS

Try hard Google trying to copy iOS. Nobody wants this bright white blinding UI
