But they're different methods so they're different patents.
So there's nothing stopping people doing it.

They can do it but it's too expensive

My question is : What's the difference between the notch (the narrow one) and this screen hole? It's not like you could use the screen area on its corner. Well it's relatively more beautiful, but functionality-cons-side, it's the same.

I doubt the Nova gets kirin 980.
And with p20 series rear design being used on many phones, it's clear the p30 series will look altogether different.

And whether we like it or not, the tech IS patented by Apple and Apple can sue companies for copying it, because its what Apple do best: sue companies. xD

Not bad at all, specially for the expected price. The display hole approach is just right over here. The P20 Pro based back panel design also looks somewhat attractive. Looks like a decent mid-ranger to me, with the specialty being it running on a flagship SoC...
And those complaining about the chin don't realize how small it is. It only appears big because the side and upper bezels are almost non-existent, which emphasizes the bottom bezel.

That hole seems bigger than status bar, I hope its hiddeable like the notch if not than atleast it does not interfere with games and movies

That's why iPhone X costs so much. Nothing to do with patent.
And the iphone x is NOT a bezeless phone, the OPPO Find X is.

As far as I know, Apple is the only phone maker who managed to design a chinless phone due to a proprietary tech that allows to bend the display at the bottom. No other phone maker can do that, because said tech is patented by Apple.
