Hmm, 02 Dec 2011How noble on him "to install this $1 tool by Eckhart&q... moreIf he TE charged you $1 for his own data stealing app you could say he's bad as them. The guy probably had to go through several tests to confirm that this problem exists. Then he had to develop an application to remove it. He has the right to ask for a fee.
Its not like you are being forced to purchase his app.

WHOA!!! Glad I'm still using WM6.5 on my HD2.

Google seriously needs to address these security issues within Android. Sure, they aren't using it but they can make sure Samsung, HTC, Etc aren't installing any personal info stealing programs on the device such as this.

Keystroke Registering counts also as a virus. The companies basically installed a virus on most Android phones.

I know Apple has this too but they already have taken steps toward stopping this virus. Google should do the same and now that it's brought into the spotlight, they probably will.

This news sucks for Android users mainly and I hope justice is served to those that deserve it (Carrier IQ, Manufacturer's AND phone Carriers).

After reading this news, I'm going to wait on jumping ship to Android.

Let's hope someone can ram them down with a lawsuit so the company and it's owner looses every last penny...

"Registering keystrokes" well this would most likely include any password you ever entered on your phone... The potential for fraud by this is enormous this alone. Should make some US-resident able to sue the S**T out of them.....
The ability for them to recreate/read any message you ever sent, should also break some personal data laws, depending of the national laws of course.

It is more likely a carrier or government driven practice. Can you imagine RIM eavesdropping when they refuse to cooperate with the authorities on inquires because of privacy? Get real.

PS: Please don't take the opportunity to try to make apples look better. If you remember they were tracking location and when it was found they released a "fix" for something the had previously required a patent for.
Now they are speaking about CIQ like GOD put it there not them. If they can remove CIQ, it just means they have their own bit or another provider for this.
