It is surprising to me that whilst China has enforced the ban, the USA using the same information has not. If appealed and say later reversed, the ban would prevent new sales, Apple will have to compensate Qualcomm for those items sold which have the patent breached technology included
Apple could or would not be able to use Kirin (as Huawei) the A12 Bionic may be a 7nm Soc but is 4G, if Apple doesn't use the Qualcomm 855 it will TSMC
Qualcomm as I understand has to license Soc, so if Apple go this route Qualcomm still gets paid

Ban affects only iPhones 7, 7+,8,8+. Beacause iphone x already discontinued and 7.7+are at the ending stock available , and 2019 iphone launch time , 7,7+,8,8+ along xs and xs max will be discontinued and not offered by Apple in any country , only XR will be offered by Apple for $549(from old devices). So in September 2019 only 4 models will be available , 3 are newer devices and one XR from 2018 , so by this ban , there is no effect on sale figures , some units not allowed to sale in china will be sold out in other countries of the world

that s good, year by year apple sells less iphones, china market helped a little to make look good the sells, but now with the trade war between u.s and china all of us is gonna suffer!!! Huawei says hi!!!
