    Hence, why are the Apple haters so salty here? If anything, it's a win for companies like Samsung providing more affordable oled screens to Apple; Samsung will get more business for selling components to competitors & Apple can sell cheaper phones with quality screens still.

      If you had, you would know exactly what I am talking about. Because "getting Samsung to put it on" is not an option. Even the expensive US$60 ones, have proven to be krap quality.

      Overall, it means Samsung's phones have been getting either:
      - very expensive (factor multiple screen replacements into the cost)
      - very weak/not durable (and not as-fit for everyday stresses, bumps, drops, dings, scrapes)
      - much larger, because a case is mandatory to preserve integrity and save money

      Sadly, those glossy marketing advertisements (also expensive) do NOT translate to a good user experience, out here in the real world. And double-sadly that they've killed off the Samsung Galaxy-Active series.

        1. Remember when Apple still using IPS panel for their flagship, Samsung still exist and strong company.

            Till date no one, anywhere complained about Note 9 viewing angle. From your comment I understand you are confused with the edge technology with a display tint. If you view the display from angle, the edge looks brighter because its a curved edge. It's not an issue with the display, rather it's optics science. Also, there are many claims that iPhone XS has color shift in extreme viewing angles.
            Ultimately, its no secret that Apple didn't buy the premium OLED display/panels from Samsung due to cost (refer to news article again) and settled with the displays with known problem. Samsung generously included their premium OLED displays, which makes Note 9 superior.

                                  iPhones have excellent color accuracy, but people might prefer the other, so it loses in that area, but the overall quality of the panel is still better.

                                    Yes, cheap display, cheap modems, cheap dual SIM (complicated eSIM), cheap charger, but overall price will be very very expensive!!
