infact, throw out ALL patents for any software design, they should make patents on hardware and hardware only...

it's very very sad, i could understand all the fuss if the source code was blatantly ripped off and copied across, but the way a notification bar looks or the way it bounces, grow up Apple and any other manufacturer that operates like this... if you want to make money, make a phone that everyone wants...

Why would samsung want to agree to that? So they can throw yet more money at apple for every phone sold?..

let's face it, the less patents any mobile manufacture uses from other companies the cheaper the phone becomes.. not a dollar to intel here, a dollar to apple just because it bounces when you scroll the screen, save a hundred bucks and make the phone cheaper!

fine, It's understandable that ARM has to get a slice, but really? Apple? for a bouncing scroll? lol

This license is kinda useless now, the newer firmwares have that overscroll glow that many custom roms over xda implemented like 2 years ago.

              HEY SAMSUNG !!!

Check this out. Instead of using the same scrolling as apple and get sued, do this:

              - when the list reaches the bottom with the scrolling, make the list stretch, elongate, like a rubber band. This way it doesn't apply to apple's patent.
              - second method. Make the list fade out with some cool pixelation effect.
-3rd. make the list compress like a spring.
-4th. make the list appear to shake.
-5th. appear to zoom in/zoom out.

There, now you dont have to uses a patent from crApple.

I would like to see App sued by E.A. Johnson at the Royal Radar Establishment, the man who 'invented' the capacitive touchscreen. In the end they will all sue each other until we have to go back to soup tins and string.

So..., Google now should sue Apple for using the same solution of notification bar... Or Apple will be first who will patent this?

I think it's time for these overpriced, overrated iPhones to rest in peace...they will forever have our gratitude for stimulating the mobile/multimedia industry but we must let go of this rock which is pulling everything downwards. Every action Apple takes stopped a long time ago being consumer oriented and has become $(cash) oriented. Americans should start being a little more responsible and double-check before spending their hard worked money.

samsung will have to pay $1 to$5 per device for that lisence if they sell 10 million device apple gets 10 to 50 million dollars if apple blocks 10 million samsung sales people will buy 10 million iphones which is around 6- 8 billion dollars..i think not giving them this patent lisence lisence is a better deal for apple

MagSafe is the one thing Apple should license because it improves safety. Far less chance of dragging laptop onto floor when tripping over power cable.

This bounce effect is removed in every new firmware-upgrade from Samsung and already replaced with a blue overscroll-glow!
