Personally, I really like the miui rom, and if it wasen't for its HORRIBLE ram management, I'd probably want it everywhere.
You know, the global version isn't even that bloated, and the customization done are actually quite nice.

It would be interesting do the vice-versa.
installing an OxygenOS rom to xiaomi devices. That way i would buy xiaomi devices which are cheaper and have the full oneplus experience. Now that would be awesome.

And you who prefer Stock Android, there are lot of features which are derived from Samsung UI. Every user has its own taste.

Questioning someone's effort to bring options into the world is one of the most selfish thing a human can do. Whether you prefer one ROM over the other is your right, but it's also one's right to port whatever one wants. Looking at the thread activity and comments, there ARE people loving MIUI even in OnePlus community. So be respectful, no need to force your choice to other people.

I largely prefer a Stock-ish Android experience. But if I had to choose a SkinnedOS on my phone, it wouldn't be MIUI it would actually be FlymeOS by Meizu.

To everyone complaining about MIUI: it's pointless. It is tailored to Chinese users. Just like Internet Explorer is only used for downloading Firefox/Chrome, buying a Xiaomi (except A-series) means that you are ready to unlock it and flash a custom firmware. If you are buying it with the intention of using the stock firmware... well, my condolences.

People are complaining about ads and rightly so. But honestly for even a normal user the ads can be disabled in 2 mins flat. No need of rooting or anything major.

Why would anyone want to run MIUI on a OnePlus? Heck, Xiaomi users might want to run Oxygen OS on their phones instead.

Ads in stock file explorer. Super weird permission requests for gallery or even weather app? No thanks.
Glad to replace my xiaomi redmi note 4x (mido) soon. It's a good device for its price. But the OS definitely could be more refined. And I wouldn't mind to pay a bit more just to get the OS ad-free.

MIUI is just plain unorganized
I even prefer the experience of EMUI more
Not to mention, its camera app is next to barebones in terms of controls, unless you get their higher end devices
Even the video recording sound is horrible, like what GSMArena team took with the Redmi 5 Plus (the phone I'm using to type and post this comment)
What makes this UI so horrible is that it has absolutely no selling feature that no one else has
It's a bit more feature-packed than Oxygen OS, but those features can already be found on other UIs and even more
Oxygen OS, for instance, is very lightweight and has all the essential features that people would need in a smartphone
I read good feedbacks about MIUI, like the security updates being timely in up to 4 years and MIUI version for up to 4 versions, and I could partially agree with it
I'd still prefer newer version of Android, but it is what it is
