Sony Ericsson to become simply Sony by mid-2012

Will the operation in sweden (at the ericsson part of the joint venture) continue to be as it is - or would sony close it, or do a big revolution in it?

I had an Ericsson phone from 2001 to 2004, it's still working. It was the good old Swedish quality. Then I had a T68i and I used it for three more years, but today I can't even turn it on again, plus another SE which broke very soon. Would I buy a Sony-only phone? No, thanks.

Sony should not just change the name and keep everything pretty much the same.
Sony needs to make a big re-organization and a large revolution, and only then launch the new phone brand.

I respect sony erricson and loved their X1 it had so many new ideas loved the blinking colours and phone goes online after 10 minutes when battary is out ( dont ask me how ) accepting in coming calls and sms and emails then off and on for more than 9 ours. But sadly it died after one year, many things went wrong on it mostly hardware ( wish I know what the hell happened ) went at net read about many hardware problems about X1. The software went ok and stoped lagging when I used the HTC theme.
Sony wish u come back strong to the game, I"ll be waiting till u Blow the mobile market like the X1. Untill that time comes... Wait 4,me SAMMY :D

Sony as a brand has more prestige than Samsung, so I can see this being a good move. The SE Android phones are very nicely designed and deserve more recognition.

Sony Ericsson was a good brand name, it sounded sophisticated, masculine and technical, denoting instantly a mobile phone. But the name Sony is feminine gives image of TV or music system to the mind, not mobile phone. bye forever Sony, its no use crying over you.....you scripted your own end in the mobile world......

why iphone is the best phone nowday???
+coz apple think about quality( make anything without problem or less problem) and have alot app . but iphone nothing beauti and difficulte to tranfer than other phone. if simple "sony" make phone with good os ( android) it competition to ios... sony alway make his own produit beuti, look different, and this about quality too. so sony'll win iphone in many years later. ( plz thing about quality, app(put some more than android app like game in psp free free) and price too.
