Sony Ericsson to become simply Sony by mid-2012

Sony has always sucked on making phones. It was Ericsson who stood for the greatest phones techwise and Sony only contributed with their design and name.
Ericsson made tons of classics and was the first with tons of stuff(like color screen, cameras etc). SE has headed towards more design and less technical specs the last years.
Sony is a horrible company for customers(just look at how they handled PS3). After Sony takes over, we will get overprized phones with low specs riddled with rootkits and malware.

it's hard to make decision..we love Sony Ericsson at all..and the currnet logo is just perfect with the SE name, not with sony...

No they are not retaining their current name. The upcoming phones are named as Sony and not Sony Ericsson. :( My S.E ARC S is going to lose its value now :(

Sony > Ericson, 06 Dec 2011I don't see any difference here. Nothing changes at all jus... moreif you must know. politics in 1 company alone is already complicated, to make a slight change, 1 must go through a hectic different department for approval, that's why custom roms are way better than the stock. Ericsson is a loser, they don't play well if we see from the previous "Ericsson" that was driven to bankrupt.

ericsson was a looser since 1998-2000 when were 20-30 models of mobiles on market and 4-5 brands. in that times, like now, i knew like everybody else that models t18,28, ga 318,628 from eriscsson were the worsest models on the market. and then was vveeery easy to compete because then were very few brands and models and customer's expectations were very low then in terms of specifications complexity: no color lcd,no camera,no cpu speed,no mp3-divx player,only a radio part with a small monochromatic lcd and an acumulator. and even in those simple times to make a good and simple device, ericsson brand was the worsest on the market, they pull down sony in the swamp. sony z1,z5 was far away better than ericsson t18,t28 at that time. remember this aspect. in that times, the coolest stuff was to have a blue lcd backlight...and to not own an ericsson.:))) SO GO TO HELL ERICSSON

hope they increase the quality of their smart-phones, cause all look and feel like plastic, cheap phones... which puts me off of getting any.

Had a pre SE phone years ago.SONY J5 I think it was. Good phone at the time.

Fine as long as they still provide service and support for their feature phone. At least for five years.

Mobile phone has been changing a lot the presence of iPhone and Android...
I miss the old days...where Nokia and Sony Ericsson had the most fresh design.. From the monoscreen of Nokia to the N-series... From the T and Z series of Sony Ericsson's... I missed the feeling of mobile phones that are just simply mobile phones with fresh, fun and colourful design..

ALL WAS A BIG CRAP and i remeber them like bad and annoying products. instead i remeber sony z1 with mobile microphone and menu wheel and z5 with flip like two of my best devices i ever had along nokia 8850. i hate ericsson

having sold all makes and models over the years i can say there is two manufactures i will not push, i wont sell any high end nokia touch screen as 8 out of 10 will be back a week later with problems and the other is sony ericsson as 9 out of 10 will be back regardless of range or software, they just do not work, i havent sold either in months and until they sort themselves out i never will

If you haven't played with it, you don't kknow what you're talking about.

No featurphones....There will be a market fall bcs every 1 cant afford to buy smart phone...What about kids...Just music fans? But anyway happy to hear about SONY...Single... I love the logo of sony ericsson..Whish that itll come with new phones.

Now , we will be able to see some great devices in the maket, this might take some time but evently like samsung , sony will shine again. All android fone sold in the maket, (battery) doesnt last anywhere more then a day. . Where as sony arc and ray proven otherwise.
Glad to now new technology will be embraded in new model Sony mobiles.
Can someone design better battery capacity mobiles these day. Nokia's are simply better in that aspects.

Dear Sony,
Please concentrate on making better batteries for the phones. That would be a better investment.
