Report: iPhone XR made up 32% of iPhone sales in its first month

The new entry-level iPhone had a 2% higher market share compared to the iPhone X’s 30%.

    Apple is losing its brand prestige and luxury image. If Apple keeps on discounting iPhone prices for its new iPhone XR, XS and XS Max models in the guise of 'swap your old iPhone for $300 rebates' it's going to be downhill for Apple in the long term.

      So a 45% increase in people switching from Android to iOS.

      The XR sells better than i thought then. We bought 3 new iphones in our household in in october 2018 and chose, without any doubts whatsoever, to get 2 Xs Max and 1 Xs, all 256GB. Xr just seem like a huge waste of money, it offers same performance but is very unsatisfactory in important areas, it seem so crippled.

      I still dont get why some say xs/xs max are expensive, no other phones retain its value as well and if desired they can be used for years after year 2022s Galaxy Note 12 are outdated, the continued investments in LTE networks will assure that 5g will not be a requirement for regular users, soon tech frontline countries like Norway and others will retire GSM and 3G and reuse the freed frequencies for LTE. Meaning not even western european users have to stress with 5g support, as usual its users from countries without 5g who are loudest in demands for new tech. Everyone who dont live in Quatar should just keep quiet.

          I dont see why this hate and fighting over who's who...In reality apple makes good devices who least longer with the support of softweare...On the other hand those high prices tend to make ppl swich...Think of it this way if you are willing to buy 1,5k euros iPhone this year compared to 1k last year...That is a 500 rised price...Apple to mentain there profit need to sell less phones at higher prices...This is whats going on...And in all honestly android aint far behind....999 S9 plus 999 mate 20pro...even 1plus rised the bar...SO in the end as long as we are willing to pay that amount for the newst x-y phone they will keep riseing the prices...Think of it if apple would have sold 10mil units insted of 50mil units this year ,than in 2019 you will see a price drop but if they sold 45mil units at 15% incrised price they still make more profit...For us the end users it sucks...But for them as a company its profit(your just a drop on water in the ocean,and not only for apple for all of them)

            more so with the "normal" bending iPad out of the box
            same with you, I still rate iPhone highly, but the value for money is not there

So while the existing users remain loyal to apple ecosystem, it is getting difficult for them to get new users.
              i am from india and this is the status quo of apple products here.

Apple since first iPhone, offer to customer what they need. It is not one of the companies, which releasing 20 different models every year to confuse people. Apple knows how to make business.
                And again I can agree about high price, but phones they are making good. And only because people like them it's silly to call them sheeps.
                Personally I'm using galaxy Note, but I think iPhones are great devices.

                  Every year there's little to none switching from iOS to Android, but a not-insignificant population switching from Android to iOS.

                  However, there are just as many people switching to Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo... from the likes of Samsung, LG, SONY, HTC, Blackberry, Microsoft, Motorola, Lenovo, ZTE. Not to mention ASUS, Nokia-HMD, and OnePlus.

                  And even a greater amount of NEW customers who are buying low-end Xiaomi (and sometimes Huawei) devices.

                            It can be 80% all they want but without the sales numbers these percentages means nothing much for investors. Buyers have long moving away from expensive brands.

                                The number of android users switching to IOS has only gotten bigger and bigger every year. Only one person I know haven’t switched from android. And the ones who switched first in my group haven’t switched back to android. A few have bought the Apple Watch, making it even harder to switch back to android.

The bigger phones usually come with better tech than the smaller ones. If both big and small phones pack the same tech, the sales results may well be very different.
