iOS and Honeycomb both "works". That's why other features matter they make people weigh pros and cons. That's why I bring up other feathres. If people didn't care about more features and options and only cared about smoothness, Android wouldn't even be ahead of WP7 right now.

widgets , removable battery and SD-slot are IMPORTANT ONLY TO YOU NOT OTHERS.
Only u care about them , most people care only one thing "IT WORKS OR NOT".
thats my point.
if those are important to others they would chose android for tablets but android got no apps !!.So android tablets "WON'T WORK".
i am not diverting topic because.
if i say same example for phones u say "android has highest marketshare" YES only because of appmarket.
So i have to bring honeycomb in middle to prove widgets , SD-slot and removable battery are useless in deciding to "BUY" a product.

mmmm, 08 Dec 2011To be honest people buy a phone that will do what they want... moreI would ask you the question why do you think Apple need to produce a mid range or basic handset? The answer is they dont the iPhone 3gs came in what 2009 and it still is a big seller so they dont have to. And as for people keep saying that the contract on the phone is really expensive that not true you can get a contract for £30 the average price per month is £35

I am proud windows user because it has apps I need and customisation I want and different price points if I want to buy new one.
May be macs have less viruses and smoother doesn't mean it is better.
It's has bad pricing , no app compatibility.
That's why windows boast 90%+ market share.
If u take mac it doesnt have compatibility to accessories [ macs have one click and don't have right and left clicks) so its waste.
If I buy joystick for PC it's always compatible but macs ? Never since someone need to his compatible drivers for it to work.
Similarly iPods touches and iPhones hav wide range of accessories and docks cases and many things.
I use vista many said vista is horrible advice me to switch to windows 7.
Why did vista fail ? Lags and sluggish OS.
I can show u vista had good marketshare in 2008-09 before 7 came.
Is it good OS ? Never.
Switch to windows 7 u know the difference why vista failed.
Mac vs windows ---- macs have no apps and windows have apps so it's success.
So smoothness and apps , pricing vs other things = those 3 always winner

AnonD-5197, 09 Dec 2011The features I talked about enhance user experience, no dou... moreSee my question is still pending.......I will answer that myself because u bought that "topic" first.
u said SD-slot , Replaceable battery and different screen sizes are important for consumers and finally widgets.
My point is Honeycomb has many things u mentioned apart from Removable battery.
How come honeycomb tablets have pathetic User-reviews and No sales ?
Answer :
widgets , Batteries are nothing. since they are solvable (info from apps is same as widgets and u can buy external battery if u want , u can attach 3rd party physical keyboard to iphone)
U said smoothness of UI balanced by widgets, customization and removable battery.
and u said "android is never behind iOS" meaning that android is either equal or greater than iOS.
thats why i said 30 OEMs trying so hard to compete with one phone and again fighting among each other themselves.
I can strongly say that price , apps and smoothness drives the sales of products (single core vs dual core because of smoothness !!). $499 is selling point of iPad.
Nexus prime has none of those.
No SD-slot , No UMS , No Flash and also Closed thats why.
So u say Galaxy Nexus is bad ?
As far as i am concerned i say that google's approach on depending on different companies is very very bad.
Its pathetic because of Cross platforming .
If i want to develop a new app based on flash.
First i use tools from android SDK and again i have to take license from Adobe to use flash in my app and again need Adobe's tools to customize the flash.
Whats the result ? delayed development of apps and struggling OS with bugs and OEMs lazy to give updates.
If i make app without flash , i can just use normal tools given by the company and directly submit it.
There is lot of difference between that Right ?
So platform moves very fast and development goes rapid (also piracy on platform must be less)
Android is known for lot of piracy apps. (yes iOS too but there are people who pay for apps i mean more people who come forward to buy in iOS community but android less buyers) (low-end phone users never buy app and only rich ones pay money aka high-end phone users).
And u know how carriers behave haha.
Verizon and Google fighting over "Wallet" for nexus. and Carriers install all junk. Never give updates change layouts.
example : galaxy s2 in US lot different from Asian version or korean version.

AnonD-9023, 09 Dec 2011I am not talking about OS here.
i am talking about SD-sl... moreThe features I talked about enhance user experience, no doubt. And I'm talking about the end products that consumers use. SD-slot, widgets etc do enhance user experience and this is fact. Is it the sole factor that determine what users buy? No. I never said that in any of my comments either.
"Apple is one single company handling everything and controlling everything to give best user-experience unlike google who depend on adobe and different OEMs to promote their "Android" ."
That's one way to think of it.
I think of it as Google is opening Android to everyone so that the users can decide the best user experience unlike Apple who decides for the users. In this scenario, it makes sense that Google is cooperating with many different OEMs to improve Android and give consumers the choice in terms of design and UI.
I don't know about you, but number of devices sold by the manufacturer isn't what I look at when determining which product is better. It makes no difference to the user. I buy a product because it suits my needs. You think Apple wins? Sure, they sell the most. How does that affect you?
You keep coming back to this Honeycomb thing which I never intended to talk about in the first place. I understand compatibility of applications play huge role in the success of an OS. I never disagreed with you on this. I have witnessed it from Windows vs. Mac. I was talking about the general UI and the experience it provides. End of that.

AnonD-5197, 09 Dec 2011Those are one of the strengths of Android over iOS. There a... moreI am not talking about OS here.
i am talking about SD-slot , widgets etc "which u call them as user-experience"
i am saying if they are user-experience , then why isnt honeycomb/blackberry tablets selling well ? XOOM , playbook , HP touchpad.
I state that if honeycomb had 100,000 apps and iOS had 100 apps , everyone wanted honeycomb because selling point of touchscreen tablets is smoothness and apps.
Same with iOS.
iOS has larger developer community and high quality apps (more in number too).
Again (eric made that statement and countered by saying ICS attracts even more)
android has cheaper models and have marketing everywhere with 30 OEMs operating throughout the world yet in consumer reports iPhone stands first (6 month usage and 12 month usage report from various users).
Apple is one single company handling everything and controlling everything to give best user-experience unlike google who depend on adobe and different OEMs to promote their "Android" .
So u think its a win of so many companies yet apple is breaking records for every time year after year with growth at tremendous rate.
if u compare each company individually u can state apple is far more away and top position.
iOS is created for ipod and iphone , and now iPad born out of iPhone.
One category is where companies beat apple i.e smartphones and only in marketshare not in user experience.
(by selling galaxy s2 for $2 on launch day on iPhone 4S and giving discount for tablets to push their sales etc.)
And Google says "200 million activations"
and how many "active" users?
iOS has 75 million active users and google makes no statement for that.
if u take US browser history (since google and apple both american companies) 60% browsing takes place on iOS and remaining takes place on all OS combined. (40%)

Where it loses (UI smoothness), it makes up for it in another (convenient features). Wall of icons don't do justice for convenience part of user experience. Widgets, notification, etc allows you to absorb information faster. Giving users choices also boosts user experience"
U Said "Wall of icons don't do justice for convenience part of user experience"
So obviously according to honeycomb tablets must be selling very well but they are not o0.
since it has widgets , sd-slot etc what u mentioned (apart from battery)
So if user experience is 100% more than 75% of user experience is given for smoothness and apps market and support thats why Most users (3 out of 4) prefer iPad.
Sorry to mention again that ur statement was fanboy statement

"Aren't widgets part of the apps ?"
Apps are disguised form of widgets vice-versa.

u said widgets and screen sizes are more important and ipad has one screen size and no widgets and it sells very well.
Why ? Simple because people never care about those things.
only thing people care is it has apps or not.
thats the reason honeycomb fail and thats the reason eric made those statements.
Jobs didnt make it.
Eric (aka former apple member) said it.
So obviously u agree ICS used in tablets is stretched version of phones.
What i mean is apps and support is more important than widgets or removable battery.
ic an buy extra battery accessory and plug it to phone and use it everywhere whenever i lose battery or go out of battery.
widgets also not important since u can access that information via apps.
Can u solve fragmentation like that ? no
can u solve "support" problem ? no
i have valid points but u don't have such points.
u only said info from widgets can also be accessed via apps (it is solvable if we have some patience).
Screen size is the only thing u can't solve.
u can use 3rd party keyboard for iphone if u want physical keyboard.

iPhones iOS5 and iPads iOS5 run the same. Gingerbread and Honeycomb are very different, the whole user experience is different, the whole app selection is different. It should be pretty obvious. I wasn't going to discuss the tablet market in the same argument as in the phone market. The factors that affect the tablet consumers are different from the factors that affect the phone consumers.
Yes, to eliminate fragmentation, both phones and tablets should run same version of OS.
Tablets running ICS will be comparable to iPad running iOS5, but there isn't one running it yet.

Honeycomb is Android but completely different version of Android. It's not the same as comparing iPhone to Galaxy S and iPad to Honeycomb tablet. Not the same comparison."
Why not ? u are saying its different YES in what way ?
U proved my point already now.
I stated before :
"U are an android fanboy that's why u praise it. But u won't give reason why iPad sells well even without widgets and removable battery or expansion slot.
Obvious android got boost only after marketplace got good apps like angry birds in October 2010 and apps like flight trackers or soundhound etc. "
exactly did the same
No reason and stating both are different.
ICS = same UI on both tablets and phones
iOS = same UI on both iPad and iPhone.
Coutesy : Google I/O conference 2011.
Same approach as iOS.
So u say all tablets and phones running on ICS are same ?
ICS tablet = big size and stretched versions of phone applications ?
so galxy tab running ICS is same as Galaxy s2 ?
http://expressbuzz.com/tech/Ice-cream-sandwich-to-end-fragmentation/327274.html
"Last week though, Google promised to resolve the fragmentation issue by releasing the first Android that will run on both smartphones and tablets. It is called Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), continuing the food theme. ICS has a ton of new exciting features that Google hopes will take it past iOS 5. For the first time, it has done away with hardware buttons, completely re-hauled the UI, giving more prominence to widgets, has a better browser, a better notifications drawer, a better and faster camera app, and a new contacts app called People that makes it easier for you to interact with your contacts using a variety of ways like Twitter and Facebook. And it says it wants customers to ‘love’ Android. Google says by having “an OS that runs everywhere” they will put an end to fragmentation. It has to be seen if Google will keep it’s promise by giving customers like my dad a consistent experience, forcing handset makers to end fragmentation. If not, it will end up like another Symbian. "
Same UI = same OS (like iphone and ipad) just difference is scaling as u are mentioning by using words (stretched).

Paradox ? or brainwash ?
Honeycomb is part of android right ? today all tablets come from honeycomb and updated to ICS.
perhaps gingerbread and honeycomb are different and same with iPad and iPhone.
there are exclusive iPad apps which can't run on iPhone and its not vice-cersa.
