SO BAD, 05 Jan 2019Well ASUS has not removed the FIRMWARE from their website. ... morei'm from Indonesia, just notice about the update last week on the asus website, yesterday I wanted to update it to my max pro M2 but the link has gone.. thanks God if it was Beta version :)

Well ASUS has not removed the FIRMWARE from their website. Great, we are beta testers for their semi tested Max PRO M2 devices sadly.

After the Update, phone lost the support for ExFat format(mostly in 64GB cards).
only FAT 32 format supported SD card can be used.
Still some issue over the not yet to be fixed.

Use guiformating tool for PC and format ur sd card to FAT 32 to use the cars in your mobile.

i am unable top update the phone manually
installed teh firmware 1.6gbs from ass website and saved in the root folder
Fota update- deleted cache and data
restarted
no message in notofication about a system updater

I updated my device with this, everything is working fine except the SDCard slot. SDXC cards are being read as corrupted, going through the SDCard setup doesn't help either. The formatting process stops at 20% and then notifies that the setup is successful. I've tried 3 different SDXC cards and they were all read as corrupted although they have been read by my PC and other android devices fine. SDHC cards however worked fine.

Update features:
1. Secure face unlock: Close your eyes and unlock with face unlock.
2. Portrait: No difference between leaf and shirt. Blur everything except face
3. Battery: Its actually 4000 mah battery, check with Antutu. Cant help much here.
4. Rounded edges cut cosmetically, So games and stuff will still lean on square shape.

It is better than you go buy Zenfone 5Z or other better flagship and you would be much happier.
Midrange is midarange it can't compare with flagship.
Because OEMs have to cost cutting in midrange device they do one thing better then spoil another like Bigger battery but no fast charge option and if this is enabled no fast charger in the box.
If you want more then you have spend more...

Place the update zip file and if it doesn't detect automatically, restart your phone it should, happy updating :)
