And the A8s has the SD710 not because the E7872/7874A/7885/9610 SoCs are weak, no. It's because of the competition.
But the A50 isn't the most premium device of the (very messy in 2018) A series. So it's normal to not have the most premium SoC.

A8s has an SD 710? Is it not because their own mid range SoC underwhelming? No?
FYI, SD 675 / 730 already released with A76 custom , later use 8nm lithography iirc. Late by 2 generation eh.....

The thing here is that there seems to be no pattern in the naming scheme for their mid range devices.
Unlike their Galaxy S and Note series with streamlined number and naming scheme, their mid range devices aren't named properly.
For instance, we have the Galaxy A20, then next is the A50, like what the hell is that?
Can't they just make the first generation to be the A1, and the second generation as A2, and third generation as A3 and so on?

Samsung tend to over gimping their midrange SoC, probably to prevent their cheaper phones eating their flagship sale number, but they are forget people just can pick other better valued brand, that's why most of their phone sale except flagship is in decline iirc.
