That button bellow the fingerprint scanner though. I'm assuming that's the power button. Supposedly no longer integrated with the side fingerprint scanner to avoid the "scanner and power button in one" patent in America.
I hope they still keep the power button integration variant for countries outside of America.

Why Sony why?
It seems like last moment project, I've been a Sony mobile user and fan since Sony J70,
They've been a company with first to apply or to achieve in the mobile business, but that is a history now.
now why you don't see the design fashion and the trends among other flagships, they lost the superiority In" best camera in mobile phone" while they are the manufacturer of one of the best sensors in the market, the had invented the OLED TV but they failed to provide their own devices with one - until 2018- Sony they are preoccupied with Developing the best PlayStation but keeping mobile business at the margin,
Maybe the device will be a monster, but design wise and the implementation of their own technology it's always late.
And that's just my opinion.
Sony sorry I am unsubscribing.

The phone bezels are pretty small except for the top. Plus, 21:9 comes a lot of benefits other than watching movies. You get more context on the screen such like surfing the web, more content on apps. Developers might or might not take advantage of it, that's another concern about this.

Unless Sony are going to somehow make it’s less than 9” across then it won’t be 21:9 . 18:9 was a 2:1 , so 21:9 is gonna be like a wide screen phone.. thing and long.. kinda pointless unless you just wanna watch movies on it..

Furthermore, they incorporated one of the most unreasonable trend of ovoid screen space with curved edges.!?!
Heck, do that by the UI launcher software as an option then, just like some did with notch hiding, rather than by screen hardware tampering.
This is not a phone design for this here Sony Xperia fan.

You talk so many things on something that you hav... moreIt might have more content but my hands barely reach the top of my iPhone XS which is 19.5:9 , also my point is not the fact off ooo It won’t catch on .. how the hell are you going to fit a device that device in you pocket @ lightly be 8” inch long without it bending or felling really awkward in your pocket... even if they cut the bezels of it would light be close to 7” so my point is unless you super fat.. and have large pockets and hands that are so big you can reach the top of the screen it kinda of makes the phone pointless unless you’re just using it to watch video content on.. also I I bet it will make you hands ache from holding it for long periods if playing games. Gonna be blunt I had the note 8 which is 18:5:9 , length was 6.40” felt alkward in my pocket in jeans .. this will be bigger so .. my point is what you gonna do strap the phone to you’re waist..

Anonymous, 01 Jan 2019Looks beautiful, but a regular bezel on 21:9 screen? For me it would be a bigger bottom bezel (same as the top one) to house another front facing speaker, instead of having it at the very bottom.
I get that people are always smaller bezels and smaller bezels but don't you dare sacrificing other features you already had before making such small bezels. If they sacrifice the front facing bottom speaker and move it to the very bottom, then XZ4 will be like every other boring smartphone out there.
It seems that Sony is losing her uniqueness.

If they keep... more2016? Name one phone in 2016 with such small bezels. Compared to this, even the Note 9 has a worse stb ratio.
Maybe small bezels aren't my thing, but Sony really pushed it here. With extremely small bezels. Even smaller than Samsung's flagships.
