I know nobody cares, but I just installed this app on my phone in hopes to find a new alternative to the cancerous Facebook Messenger app, but it appears that there's a few to no one using this app in my region.
I saw my school guidance counselor using this app, but it appears that even she doesn't regularly use this.

Feature phones are very popular in some parts of the world and many of the users are using WhatsApp and quite a few of them will/can not be switching to a smartphone to continue using the app. So I see the WhatsApp user base shrinking with this support now gone.

I knew this would happen about a week ago. It's sad, why do things like this, it's not like Whatsapp will lose money by still supporting legacy operating systems. Android 2.3 and iOS 7 are losing support in 2020.

rizki1, 02 Jan 2019I think WhatsApp is more useful if it's on a feature phone ... moreWhat are you talking about, Instagram is a very good application but can’t compare to Whatsapp in term of messaging and Wechat is mostly for Chinese users. Whatsapp (and also iMessages for iPhone users ;-) ) is the best application for messaging.

Bad fruits of Facebook owns Whatsapp. If still millions of people using Whatsapp for any platform - they have to support it. Zukerberg is not human at all.

I think WhatsApp is more useful if it's on a feature phone and on an old android. Because it is very popular with users, and also in their latest cellphones they may be more Choosing Instagram, line, WeChat etc. is the application useful on feature phones too?
