Mate 20X has almost 1... moreThat is true, but remember that the XZ4 is narrower to keep to the 21:9 aspect ratio. Therefore, if you have larger hands expect to not have a firmer grip on the phone.
It still looks interesting, and I would like to see the reviews when it gets announced later this month. And hold it in my hands at a shop, to get a feel of it.

Clearly they are not the only that can do all of that even if they implement it. Especially like a 4k screen and upscaling woooo. So hard. Clearly others aren't wanting to buy that or stress the gpu. And you can't prove otherwise.
And this all circles back to the point.... Nothing you said proves every release has a world first just because some releases had some. And they are not the first. Like them copying Samsung for having a camera on a phone or recording and playing HD video first.

No one can do 4K HDR display with SDR upscale.
No one can capture 960fps super slow motion Full HD video.
Only Sony launch it at first.
There are other technology I don't mention. Hater will never know.

First phone to be able to record videos in 4K HDR? (Xperia XZ2)
Other's technologies I think are NFC and IP rating Phones (but Sony isn't the first, but one of the first)

I really hope that XZ4 could be the turning point for sony. Since XZ Premium, sony's smartphones had been all over the place. The XZ1 should have had a 18:9 aspect ratio, but then it didn't. XZ2 series is a disappointment at many aspect (although the XZ2 premium has great cameras, but they don't perform consistently). But ergonomic wise, xz2 premium is the most comfortable phone to hold and use. I've tested a lot of phones before, but I honestly think that xz2 premium has the best ergonomic aspect. XZ3 was supposed to be sony's 'redemption', but I feel that XZ3 is what XZ2 supposed to be.
I honestly don't mind the "very tall" aspect ratio. back when samsung first released the 18:9 aspect ration, most of people back then complained about the screen being to tall and long. But after a while, it become a standard. 21:9 would be perfect for watching movies (not youtube tho).

Like apple Sony is made in china as well due to a low laborer cost and other expenses.
Just a different sticker in present its nothing else.
Times when a company sticker was a status symbol are long time gone.
In present era in my country only small kids up to 10-12 years of age thinks that the Apple XS Max is a lot better than a Pocophone.
For most adults of age 30-40 or more phonne like Poco or Blackshark or Oneplus 6 is on Par with Flagships of Sony Samsung Apple etc.

And 100 euros for many countries are nothing more and nothing less than a few penny. For example Luxemburg, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Swiss, Englad, Germany etc.
