Even 50 mbit/s is enough for most scenarios (including for tethering to work from a laptop on the go), while in many cases I get over 150 mbit...

You make it sound like it gonna take years before we reach 2020. Procrastinating on 5G capability in smartphone until the network truly available is not a good idea. This is a good timing to test it out in few area. Availability of 5G phone only in area with 5G network anyway so why the complain. They wont sell 5G phone with no 5G network area, so no one is wasting their money.

The punch-hole camera is a gimmick that isn't going to change anything. Conversely, working in UK telecomms, i know well in advance that 5G is just a marketing gimmick as no UK network is going to be able to properly offer actual 5G coverage until at least 2020. Can't wait for everyone that wastes money on it.

A big failure is coming with their increasingly overpriced junk. With Mate 20, pocophone and soon the View 20, there will be less and less interest in their flagships (And their "mid"-range models are even bigger disaster, they practically killed the A-series).

Or you have companies that buy Bell bandwidth/data that resells it to you (though it's not Gigabit LTE-A or fiber internet, you are stuck on HSPA/LTE 1-CA/FTTN).

LTE-A coverage is pretty sparse. Regular LTE is decent
The price you mentioned is cheaper than 16GB Note9 on a 2-year contract in CAN.

I imagine Australia is equally poorly serviced. EE offer pretty good coverage, but their website prices are shocking. I can get 20% discount, and it is still more than other networks, especially if you compare them on mobiles.co.uk or Carphone Warehouse.
