Further, with no context (i.e. similar stats for comparable handsets of the same period), the data is meaningless and intentionally inciteful.
For example, the GS7 (first and only model I looked at) originally had a BoM of $255USD (https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_bill_of_materials_is_255-news-17222.php), and best I can tell at launch price of $669.99USD, which would put the initial retail markup at over 262.74%.

Everyone knows Apples resale val... moreIt's up to you to believe a stranger somewhere on the planet, but I know when I called both an Apple Store and a local authorized retailer and the Apple store said it's not worth anything unless I trade in on a new one, then they would give me about $80. The authorized retailer offered $50.... Pretty much same b.s with the iPhone 7, it would only count as a credit towards a newer product. I was actually shocked because like you say, everyone knows apple products hold value... pi$$ off!
Took me 2 weeks to sell the phone and almost 2 months to get rid of the iMac.

I don't understand why would Apple have to do products for everyone when that would hurt their business.
You can buy used iPhone if that fits better for your wallet, usually people buy more expensive stuffs when they get higher in their life or just save money for stuff what they want.

So much incorrect info. Original iPhone $499. Correct. But with a 24 month contract. That was the subsidy price. That later came down to $199 for subsequent models. So those prices over the years cannot be compared at all

The fact that some people can't afford iphone is a good reason to hate them at least android care for them and did provide android go they care for all categories of people
Try to imagine if there were no android in this case poor people won't be able to use smartphone ? We would use feature phones in 2019 just because iphone don't know that there is poverness in the world ?

Only iPhone XR Blue is good for me. Other than that I will buy android for sure.
