I've had 2 mobiles from Sammy now, and both (software-wise) have been updated REALLY QUICKLY...
I moved away from HTC for this very reason (I had a Hero, it wasn't upgraded in 18 months - I think just as I sold it, it got updated...)
Sammy are probably now the best at software updates, and with ICS next year, all updates (in theory) should be the same across the board...
No doubt all of their new phones will ship with ICS - whereas you look at other people's 'flagships' (SonyE I'm looking at you) - will STILL come with Gingerbread...
I have to say, I've been impressed with Sammy for specs and support - but not phone design (mega boring and cheap) - but then their screens are so bright and brilliant, that it will be difficult to move away!
Unless of course the GS3 is an absolute visual delight (which I doubt from the uninspired 1 and 2...)

Samsung can bask in its glory for now , but that wont last long because the company is poor when it comes to upgades of firmware and software eg. samsung wave to bada 2.0 .People will eventually see how pathetic this company is in delivering SAMSUNG YOUR~LL SUCK .Come 2012 sales in all departments appliances included will drop

Congrats to Sammy!
As a GS1 and GS2 owner, I have been very happy - the GS2 easily being the best phone I have owned (and I change mine every year)...
HOWEVER
GS3 will need to be something very special for me to get another Galaxy...
The power of the GS2 is so sufficient now (it runs EVERYTHING I've thrown at it really smoothly) - that the market will be much more of a level playing field next year..
For me, it'll be about providing something 'extra' - whether it'll be a radically different design, 3D screen, sharper screen (not larger), better battery, xenon flash, etc, something to really step things up a bit and differentiate it from the crowd... I don't want thinner, I want more battery!
If it's just 'more cores, more ram and more power' - then it's a big no-no for me, I just don't think they're needed...

Nokia has sold maxinmum phones over the years[including 2011]GSM ARENA its time to do more research about things you donot know!!BTW congrats to samsung- galaxy 2 hands down- was one of the best products of 2011..even galaxy nexus and note are amazing!!Cheers

Congrats to Samsung.. Aside from Faster CPU phones, samsung must consider developing Batteries as well.. What were looking for now is a high end android phone with battery that will last for about a week.

Looking at previous times, samsung A200, R220, D820, D600, U600, U700, U900, G400 and the last member of the beauty family: Samsung S8300 UltraTouch. You used to be the most beautiful phone makers. What's that beautiful phone ?? I don't know what it is, but i'm sure it's samsung from its looks.
where's that now ? Greeeeeeeat screens, great hardware, great softwares.. but it's like, they're not beautiful anymore :(
If you only managed to combine the beauty you used to have with the whooping hardware you have now, for just one phone, it will be like the best phone ever made on earth
