Good morning people! Here's a really good news for you - Update for HTC Desire S has been launched! So you guys can get updates on your handsets within a week :) Updates for Desire HD are still in testing phase and it would take us at least 4 weeks to go live with it :)

Anonymous, 15 Dec 2011Don't forget to make sure your Background Data in settings,... moreHTC Desire have announced that the HTC Desire HD can now be upgraded to the latest version on Gingerbread 2.3.5, the updates will be Carrier Dependent, as usual unbranded HTC Desire HD will most probably be updated sooner.
The updated Android 2.3.5, contains a number of bug fixes and a couple of security flaws.
The best part this update is to Sense 3.0. With Sense 3.0 you can launch your favourite applications direct from the lock screen.
Sense 3.0 also adds HTC Watch which enables you to buy digital content, such as movies, on your HTC Smartphone.
Gingerbread 2.3.5 has begun rolling out today 14th December 2011, it is suggested that you use Wifi so that you do not incur high Data Charges.

Don't forget to make sure your Background Data in settings, accounts & sync menu is switched on before checking for the update, also you could try the Checkin Service
Use the code on the dialer to have a rolling update/upgrade available to your device no matter where you are in the release schedule geographically.
Do NOT press "call" after entering *#*#CHECKIN#*#*, just watch the notification area for a prompt that you are checked in.
Then go to the usual area to check for software updates and, as long as the rolling update/upgrade has started, it will come to your device.
