Patent trolls....at least they must have developed and served single market before asking for such huge penalties for violation. Or, there must be a mechanism outside court to measure the licensing or violations in line with the size of the operation.
But the problem for Apple is that they set a bad precedence of suing others...now coming back

Since, apol is fining about a million dollars because of infringement patent of VirnetX and Qualcomm, rest assured, they will not lower down the price. Consumer will cover up that amount by buying their products. Mark my word.

coming from apple device(iphone8) then switched to android(mate20pro), I would say apple will get what they deserved. this serves them right. been an apple fan for years until iphone8 when i could no longer stomach their, whatever they are doing(no fast charger out of the box, high cost of repairs... etc)...

I preferred how The Register related the news. Instead of being polite, they straight up called VirnetX for what they are, a Patent Troll company.
Though I hate Apple, and I also hate Patent Trolls... Nah, Apple hate prevails. They are also patent trolls with their rounded icon patents and layout patents (can't believe you can patent a grid of icons) and so much more...
Would have loved it if they patented their darn notch. Why did they had to patent a layout and not this abomination?!

Patent trolls are literally a cancer that needs to be eradicated. I hope the appeal is granted, and that Apple wins in the end. This is just absurd.
