The sub-brand couldn't match its parent's growth, though.

For example, Snapdragon 845 only supports up to single 32MP camera or 2 16MP cameras, which means 40MP + 20MP (+8MP) setup on P20 Pro or Mate 20 Pro just wouldn't work.

dladz, 17 Jan 2019Bought the P20 Pro. Pro's --------- 1.Truly epic ca... moreIt's quite evident that you haven't touched the actual device. The main camera has no OIS. CPU is SD835 level so it wasn't really on par with competition but you wrote it's got a good CPU. Portrait mode can be turned off. EMUI is themable, and you're not making any sense where you say "poor system configuration" and "fingerprint showing glass"(wtf), and what, "potentially spying"??? US was doubting since 2000s that Huawei was spying on people, and you decided to get one of their phones regardless of the conspiracies around them, but then now you're complaining about how they might be spying on you?

Look, I get that you don't like that Huawei is no longer a developer-friendly company, but you don't have to blatantly lie to show how much you hate them. Be logical please.. or just go back to XDA.

This is what happens when you sell cheaper and cheaper China Brands!. Once the people get a taste of tech.. they will continue to want cheaper yet better. And they want top of the line, no compromised, no slow downs.

You think you defeated Apple.. Samsung.. or Sony, because you cut the price.. use your cheaper labor.. copying without consequence. But those giants can't be killed so easily.. the most you dent their profits.. and make some angry stakeholders..

Now you are the ones that flooded the market. Its your turn to get lesser and lesser sales. The only way, is to increase the price again.. with illusion of quality. But if you can't get quality.. and can only copy and rely on cut corners and cheap labor.. customer will leave you soon.

dladz, 17 Jan 2019Bought the P20 Pro. Pro's --------- 1.Truly epic ca... moreYour opinion are laughable lol.

Not themeable? Yes it is, i even create my own Sony Xperia XZ3 theme for EMUI 9. Check it out on XDA in Mate 20 themes section.

Very weak GPU? Not very, just a bit gap. But whats the point? Its just on number. As of now, no games and apps can makes my Mate 20 lag. And i believe it will be superior for the next 2 years.

The spying part, i wont touch it. Its just pure politics from US.

Not unlockable? Last 2 weeks new updates finally bring back 'OEM unlock' on developer settings. I wont root & unlock it for now, as i dont need the needs for it.

No zoom in 40mp? Then what the heck is 5x hybrid zoom? Its a combination of 3x optical zoom + high res (40mp) lol.

Weak battery for a 4000mah? Again, thats on paper. On real life usage, its hands down the best battery life on a flagship phones. Reviewer like MKBHD, Mr. Mobile, Mrwhosetheboss, Matthew Moniz etc confirms it and award it as best battery life, and they use a various of phones to compare with, especially oneplus. I easily got 2 days life on mine.

U need to recheck your sources.

Having just one option for mid and high end per year is clearly not enough, especially with weak gpus they have.

                                  1.Camera is missing OIS in 4K, 2K, 1080p 60fps

                                  2.Camera doesn't allow 4K+60fps, 2K+60fps

                                  3.40Mp Camera cannot zoom

4.2GB less RAM than the Oneplus (300 cheaper ?? )

5Broken updates splintered across 8 variant for the P20 Pro alone, other models are the same.

                                  6.Unthemeable OS.

                                  7.Poor system configuration

8.Terrible GPU vs last years adreno

                                  9.Fingerprint showing glass

10.Poor Bluetooth implementation, even their self promoted Bose headphones have a hard time syncing with dialogue in movies? wtf.

                                  11.Potentially spying

12.The massive battery 4000Ma does not represent the screen on time produced, average on XDA is 5-7 hours, Oneplus 5 3300Ma average is 8-9 hours?

13.Bloatware, holy moly, the bloatware is incredible, intrusive, useless unremovable bloatware.

                                  14. Holding back sources for Kernel and the like for extreme amounts of time.

Huawei wants to be Apple, kind of like a friend who has his head stuck up his other friends backside, shamelessly.

And last but not least the move that hopefully puts the final nail in their coffin

Bootloader locked down - Huawei argue only 1% unlock their bootloader.......................Deep breath..............

Funny how Huawei partnered with XDA to push their phones out when they were trying to make their mark on the market, now that they have they pull the plug on the 1% who've shouted about their devices, defended them, modded them, promoted them and essentially assisted in making Huawei a force.

Now they block end users from unlocking their devices and put up a block to anyone who would even like to try to remove the shackles on their android device.

Bare in mind that Android was pioneered and championed by the people who wanted to change more and make their devices their own, better, more efficient and not only that but modifications which have kept old devices / dead devices going, the HD2 for example, the Desire HD, they're still being developed for lol, huawei just doesn't get android.

Personally i hope they go down HTC's route and fail hard.

I would not buy another one of their products again.
