Anonymous, 18 Jan 2019Why are smartphone sales slowing?Almost every market today has been reached and have at least a smartphone that would satisfy its needs. Currently, high-end phones being able to do almost everything while almost nothing worth noting in every iteration, and the lower end of the market gets most of the basic stuff they need while gaining features that's only available in previous flagship devices and both of them having a good built quality that lasts for years. In other words, smartphones now are better that they aren't necessarily needed to be replaced every year. Though, while the sales was high in the previous years, it's in its peak. And it's expected to continually plummet in next few years.

It is inevitable...the path they have taken seems to be pretty obvious that it is heading for a major crash....thanks to the strong fan base in huge volume, keeping them sailing so far....investors have made their fortune when it hit the peak and now they might dump the stock and move forward.

Apple's capability to create better smartphones with each iteration reached its peak. Combined that with slowing smartphone market and tougher competition, their sales numbers these past few years are almost stagnant. They might won't last for next 3 generation if this keeps up.

Well other manufacturers should give work to foxconn such as Samsung or Sony.
That 50k assemblers are not responsible for Apple being a coward company which have no shame to ask 1650 for a phone worth maybe 500 bucks. SAME GOES FOR OTHER DEVICES.
Like plastic XR with LCD screen low ram and other crap for 900+ bucks.
WTF.
Now who will feed those workers and their a families pay their bills etc.

cut, cut, cut....this is horror movie shot! No one organization in the supply chain would cut 50, 000 workers in the first go itself! Something serious happening. May be trade war is taking away jobs out of China...
