vivo lets people touch - but not see - its button-less, port-less APEX 2019

21 January 2019
Described as "metal soap", the phone will be completely smooth - no USB ports, no hardware buttons, nothing of the sort.

travstr, 22 Jan 2019hmmmm... is this the future? it's an interesting idea that ... moreInduction doesn't stop working just because a battery is completely discharged. Wired and wireless works by the same principle; stack electrons into one side of a battery, one through a copper wire, one using black magic.

The physical buttons can still be done with the type of pressure sensitive screens we have, or gestures, or any other way. That part you're sort of mis-thinking like Microsoft mis-thought the necessity of alt-ctrl-del for over 30 years. Just do it differently. :)

A completely port-less phone is the future. There are some unfortunate compromises, of course. More expensive and worse sounding wireless headphones, no expandable storage and such.

          Way to go, Vivo!

I might be an idiot but where does the sound emit from, or the mic...

hmmmm... is this the future? it's an interesting idea that needs incredible technology. sadly unless vivo have come up with some rapid charging wireless alternative, wired charging (and functionality) can't be beaten.

also having no USB means your phone is as good as dead if you it's soft bricked, and there's no external controls for recovery and fastboot. not sure I feel about that.
