The device is a very dependable laptop available at a very appealing price point.

SVA isn't Samsung VA - it's HP-speak for TN ('Standard Viewing Angle'). Far inferior to a VA screen :)

So effectively, they give OEMs the opportunity to give worse products just to avoid people getting these instead of pricier i-series devices. And OEMs are saying "what a thoughtful gesture!"

when I was a kid they taught us to handle computers with care...nowadays rugged laptops are produced so kids don't have to learn how to handle things delicately and with responsibility. what has the world become?

Looks nice, especially the Wacom stylus support is great, but the screen resolution is really low. Even much smaller phone screens normally have at least Full HD.

Even though both have the same CPU cache and TDP, the Intel Celeron N4100 have 4 cores and 4 threads, so isn't that better even if the boost clock is slightly slower than it's so called predecessor? To be honest entry-level laptops like this are fartish as hell lol

Dual-Core fartish, here we come!*
*: Available as quadruple fartish at the same bulk price.
(The bulk prices of both the N4000 and N4100 is 107USD. Both are the same cores, same TDP, though the cache remains at 4MB. What's the point?)
Surprisingly, I can say the screen isn't as fartish. It's not TN, it's only saving grace from this designation. 1280x768 was the low-res screen resolution from 11 years ago on the first Core i laptops (ThinkPad T410, I remember you). Anyone up for another dumb 10YearChallenge fail?
Those chromebooks have more connectivity than any iPhone ever had. Great job.

Finally, an interesting laptop design for students. although the celeron processor might've been a downside, an IPS LCD TouchScreen is very very good, especially when it can be rotated into tablet mode. good job HP!

I wonder why hp doesn't promote it's x3 lap dock for android pairing. It just needs something to hold or space to store a phone to make it perfect.
