At first it was through demoing shown by youtubers that left me with a very bad impressions, and gsmarena's review confirmed that Magic 2 does not perform well in the camera dept., as compared to Mi Mix 3..

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2019hello guys please I need your opinion galaxy note 9 or mix ... morethey both have the same processor, but i would go with the note 9, stylus, better camera even if the slowmo is in lower resolution, SD card, 3.5 jack, and water proof, better design, bigger battery and so on, but, it depends on you, if you like to tinker with the software, you go with Xiaomi, other than that, almost everything in the Note 9 is better even tho i'm shocked i'm giving someone an advice to buy a Samsung !!

The Mix 3 is better priced for similar performance and camera and has a arguably better design (slider).
I need 3.5mm and MicroSd so my personal choice would be Note 9 but a lot of people don't need these and I'd recommend the Mix 3 in that case.

Anonymous, 22 Jan 2019hello guys please I need your opinion galaxy note 9 or mix ... moreThey are two somewhat different phones. Note 9 being a lot more costly than the Mi Mix 3 and offering a pen, IP rating and a bent display edges for less grip, if that's something you're interested in.
Note 9 is older and launched on Android 8.1, so it is likely to receive one less android OS update than the Mix 3.
Camera wise they're both great and they both have AMOLED panels for high contrast and deep blacks. The Note 9 has higher screen resolution, but neither of them are ideal for VR.
I'd go for the Mi Mix 3, as I find it to be of much higher value and I really prefer the bezelless design over the dated Note 9's bezels and awful bent edges (infinity display). I'll be getting mine around feb 1st as the green will be available here then. Only the black one available at my location now.

I think the 5G version may cost a bit more, but hard to say for sure really. And while is seems it will be officially presented on Feb 24th, it may not be available until end of March. That can be a long wait depending on who you are :-)
