It will probably give Huawei's GPU Turbo a run for its money.

Everyones copying Huawei this year, shows how they are the new king.

Software to hide the notch was created by Huawei, Gradient colours is copied endlessly now, GPU Turbo is being replicated, Night Mode is now popping up and pixels and xiaomis, reverse wireless charging is coming on new samsungs soon, triple cameras was copied from huawei as well,

namama, 22 Jan 2019and they said huawei's purely copycats. looks what happens ... moreAnyone can be a copycat if they act that way.
Yeah sure, the tables have turned and it's Huwei who's being copied by other manufacturers now, but that doesn't take away anything from the fact that they were also one of the biggest replica company before they became this successful.
But you see, their decision to move from a *Ctrl C+ Ctrl V* brand to an influencer is probably their best decision for their whole business. They invested heavily on properly developing new things, trying many old but creative stuff and trying to improve upon them, which led to their fame and huge success.
Say for instance, if Apple and Samsung took a similar road and constantly improved massively on a yearly basis instead of merely updating what they've started already, then they might be giving a great competition still.
Also, it's worth noting that Huawei is a really big threat to pretty much most of the companies in the smartphone world today. If not for Huawei, Samsung wouldn't be alarmed to improve their mid range lineup this year, and we might still be getting lowly bezel-ful SD410-powered Galaxy J Primes with TFT panels for $200.

HUAWEI low midrange phone - Y9 (2019) which is powered by Kirin 710 (12nm) processor already has GPU Turbo and the selling price is about 210 Dollar.

      How about SAMSUNG?

Luxor, 22 Jan 2019Now, we know GPU is truly made for the sake of gaming. GPU ... moreYes, we want numbers. Minimum 60fps in ALL games without micro stuttering on highest quality setting, without phone getting warmer than acceptable level

Me personally don't care about bench number, downclock my Cpu by ~20% for less heat, phone games never bottleneck on Cpu anyway

Just drop your damn Mali already
It's so bad that your exynos s9 note 9 and s9
Gaming performance is par with iphone 6S...
            This is just sad

Luxor, 22 Jan 2019Now, we know GPU is truly made for the sake of gaming. GPU ... moreNumbers are used to measure the potential of the hardware.
If 60fps gaming for people is enough, then there's no need for SD855, heck not even SD835. SD820/821 can easily do that already.
Now if we talk about how long can they maintain such consistent performance, this is where we'd need the more efficient node from newer SoCs.
If basic gaming is everything that you need, then why bother with these extremely expensive devices? My Redmi 5 Plus with SD625 can easily get that job done perfectly, all for just $160.

Shui8, 22 Jan 2019Huawei Gpu Turbo works like a charm. Call it as u like, whe... moreIts because pubg only allows 40fps at max graphics unless you modify the configuration. My xz1 and ipad 6 can do that aswell. And they both have socs that are older than 970. In other games 970 has absolutely no chance against 845.

Gpu turbo allows optimization on the software thanks to ai so for example it gets stable fps on pubg once enabled. It also consumes a tad less battery although its not much

It also has exclusive optimizations from a few games which improve performance. Which is the biggest factor of improved performance once its on.

This is great news. The Mal gpusi inside exynos are lacking compared to Qualcomms snapdragon series or apples a series socs.

But will snapdragon variant receive this too?

Now, we know GPU is truly made for the sake of gaming. GPU booster = Game booster. As a non gamer It doesnt affect my daily usage if this booster exist or not. Just admit it. What we really want is numbers. Tech people obsess with numbers and benchmark to compare rival. Samsung fan wont be satisfied until their phone GPU match Huawei's.

SD855? SD845? EX9810? EX8895? SD835? will these get that Neuro game booster too?
                        Sorry. too damn curious. >w>

Huawei Gpu Turbo works like a charm. Call it as u like, when games like PUBG make use of it, gameplay experience is on par as SD845 even using older Kirin 970.

Previously 'cheated' benchmark score on Huawei phones are actually real life performance, as it change certain games on performance mode and Gpu Turbo enabled. Even there are games not listed as Gpu Turbo enabled, game apps like Dolphin Emulator got double fps boost after got the Gpu Turbo updates! On my Mate 20 Kirin 980, games performance is even better, not any games can make my phone lag.

Take it like this, Kirin 980 Antutu score of normal mod are 275k, Performance mod are 310k. Those 310k benchmark score are actually automatically open when playing games in real life as Gpu Turbo enabled. Yes it maybe overheats when running benchmark, but i never experience any overheating when playing heavy games for hours.

First, Huawei introduce Night Mode, other company follows. Now Gpu Turbo. And i wont called it as copying, as its a new finding on software technologies, the more the better.

It would be great to see more support from publishers and developers for mobile. Although Rockstar, Nintendo etc have been planning more games for mobile but there are many older games and indie games that could easily run on android and IOS now, Hotline Miami as a prime example!
