I don't want to have any contact with facebook nor instagram chats. Well, guess it's time to ditch whatsapp and only use iMessage like all normal people do.

I actually kinda want them to really merge. Facebook is technically a superset of all, maybe just force some good things like that end-to-end encryption to messenger. But I understand that not everybody (has|wants to have) Facebook account.

if the EU has not fined them enough...they're in for a huge surprise; merging those 3 apps and keeping in line with the EU regulations and GDPR compliance it's short of a miracle; the only explanation they are doing this is data collection: phone numbers, pictures, locations..etc...let your mind go wild what those 3 accounts merged mean and you'll understand Facebook's reason.
