"Amazon, meanwhile, has no app for the Android TV."
This is only partly true. There is an app for Amazon Prime Video, though to be fair it seems mostly available for some Smart TVs. I'm not sure if Sony has it on it's TVs, but in any case there is a native on pre-installed on the NVIDIA SHIELD TV. And despite not having support for Dolby Vision or HDR10+, it does support common HDR10 for supporting content.

Adi, 07 Feb 2019That just allows you to select the HDMI source (1,2 or 3). ... moreGo to settings -> input and select the relevant hdmi port (1,2 or 3). You'll see the computer display (or whatever you connected via the hdmi port) on your mi tv. Now press the centre button on the mi remote (DO NOT exit the selected hdmi input). Another menu will pop up where there is a settings option. Go into this setting (NOT the global android setting) and there will be an option to enable/disable HDMI 2.0

It doesn't toggle HDMI 2.0 standard which is what the author claimed he had to do to recieve 4K from his source. I still don;t see it anywhere, and I assume its enabled by default.

Good review, I liked it it is honest, and informative, well done

                Got it yesterday.

A few questions. I don't see anywhere in the settings to "enable" HDMI 2.0

Furthermore, my Xbox One is indicating this TV doesn't support HDR. It's enabled on the console.

How do verify if the panel supports HDR?

So it's very basic 4K TV with useless HDR (200nits??? wtf?).
And btw - Amazon Prime Video does have app for Android TV, but it has to be pre-installed from the factory and you cannot download it form Google Play (Sony TVs have it, I think Phillips' too and of course Nvidia Shield also).

It's not even compliant to the HDR10 standard. Or the UHD Alliance standard for color gamut and calibration. And this processor gives MediaTek a run for their money as the worst processor possible.

Well, you get what you pay for.

From what I understand from this article, every spec of this t.v is deliberate. It all boils to next generation of data collection by xiaomi. Let me explain.
                                    1) No mute button means the mic (speakers) are always hearing what you are saying.
                                    2) Can set the image means they want to know what you look like and where you are located. These are the only two points I could grasp. Please do not buy any smart tvs as smart tv aka the new digital prison. The same can be said to the other evil apps and browsers (meaning ms internet edge also included) Just mail this tv back to china so we can spy on them for a change.

On terms of TV, IPS panel got pathetic black level. The only advantage are viewing angle.
