I saw a lot of improvement at non-smartphone segment by Samsung in the last 2 years. I can see where they spent the money very well.

People complaining about curved screens, removable batteries, SD cards seem like are still in 2007. Cruved screens are cool and the sales (facts) show that the MAJORITY of people love them. SD cards? Me and my friends or colleagues haven't been using one since ages (on our phone). Want more storage? Get 64/128/256 versions and utilize advances in tech to share data wirelessly, via cable, ect. Removable batteries? They are still removable, just not OTG. The bulk, lack of IP rating, impossibility to have a 4000mAh+ removable one and design tell clearly that it is NOT a good idea! Planned obsolesence? Well, partially. I have an S7 edge that still goes strong and i can safely go pas the yet to be announced S10. Please don't judge premium device choices when you can afford only your J7 Prime series or have those Elephone and Dogees...

You know whats even more sustainable?

Not flooding the planet every year with millions of phones when the old ones are perfectly usable.

So this is where Samsung spent all these years of staying still and remaining stale, with barely improved products in the last 2 years?

That's some mighty hypocrisy. If they were so concerned about the environment, there would be no planned obsolescence. No non-removable batteries, no new models so often and things would have been quite different.

"While Samsung is getting rid of the protective plastics from its smartphones, it will be replaced in other products with bioplastics from starch or sugar cane, both bio-degradable materials"

These are 1-time gimmicks... Meanwhile their sales are falling down...
What Samsung SHOULD have done is to get rid of curved screens (and their respective annoying glares). This would have had more feasible daily effect for the customers.

Great news! ^^ I hope other companies follow suit~
