Yeah. There's no way it's even possible. It's not zoomed at it. It's just pretend. Meanwhile everything else has been possible....
And has been done in a more standard set up like the Galaxy zoom...

No way samsung are predictable they can not give s10 a 10x.do not hope so high. 5x are enough. Do not dream to 25x or 10x

Well, great choice! Corephotonics were the first (back in 2014) to come up with the idea of combining two cameras with different zoom levels and obtain "optical" zoom on smartphones. Congrats!

[deleted post]You can buy three Nikon D3400's for the price of one Galaxy Note. It's not so much about the monies but the needs. I really want a mirrorless camera of some sort. But, when I start browsing for one, I start thinking on all the moments I'd use it and realise I would most likely never use it... :)

Hopefully the 25x zoom is a mic of the periscope lens elements as well as larger multi-sebsor image fusion. And I hope the 12MP is path-leading. I am waiting for a smartphone sensor that does about 13stops of dynamic range in RAW (preferably 14-bit), full-res at 30fps, Super HDR photo (15-stops HEIF photos), and 4k at 120fps or 4k super HDR (upto 60p) in 10-bit H265 LOG.

These phones can do a lot. And tend to have brighter lenses, dual photo diode focus, amazing hdr stacking, better video, a much more intuitive and advanced interface and touch interactions.
And processing a raw off a note 9 can give decent results. Of course sometimes nothing compared to my Nokia 808.
I would like to see a good 1/2 or 1 inch sensor on a phone. Truly a full frame or media format but that will never happen and would be insanely expensive.
Improve on the 808s tech. Only better in every way.
40mp at that sensor size could be up to about 2um give or take.
Add in ois, newer focusing and isolation tech. Dual aperture. Today's advanced uis and modes. Hdr imagine. Even if you have to stack it later yourself.
However it seems we either only get 12mp 1.4um or 48mp 0.8um.
And your lucky to get that it seems. Flagship end is all 12..

That's just a fixed 10 mm lens, a fixed 250 mm lens, and a 30-50 mm zoom lens. You don't believe me? Try zooming to 24 mm, or 80 mm. How is it going?

Not all people want dlsr. It's not practical and waste of space in the bag.
I prefer a more compact all in one device to bring anywhere with me.

This one at least somehow doesn't greatly reduce the image quality, and the zooming technique is still hardware level instead of being software processing reliant.
