It is just that iphone's... moreThe reason why chins are still noticeable on android is because iPhones bend the screen inwards which in turn hides the screen connector. Allegedly this process is very expensive hence why iPhones now command a 1k price tag.

It is just that iphone's bezel on all sides are symmetrical while Samsung has preferred no bezel which is why it looks like Samsung has a chin. I hope it clarifies your PERCEPTION about chin.

I want to upgrade my S8+ to the 10+ but I really hate the double hole. I think I'm going to get the middle one because it has just one selfie or Sony XZ4.
My phone is 6.2" and I already have problems with the jeans pockets or going up the stairs. Having a bigger one is out of the question for me.
I enjoy big displays but I have to draw a line somewhere.
Overall I like it. Too bad for the silly selfie camera. It ruins everything.

1. Super thin side bezels and curves together do not make the best in usability. The difference is felt while using the S9+ and Note 9 where the latter has the upper hand.
2. Not understanding the logic behind not having the punch-hole camera in the middle.

Actually this particular photo doesn't have the rest of the screen engaged in apps and opening documents or movies. Those situations would best highlight how the cutout handles distractions. Anyways, nothing can truly beat the ugliness and poor design factor of the notch. That is ugly and seriously distracting. And also ensures that the real display size if advertised incorrectly.

I would define 'user' or 'we' as people from the manufacturer homeland. From how I see it manufacturer make phone that are affordable for their home country. Like that Redmi CEO you said. They considering their own people. Look at all the minimum wage of countries where smartphone brand comes from. China have really low minimum wage (around $3+) so their manufacturer try to make phones as cheap as possible. Unlike S.Korea or Japan (around $7+) and even US; most phone doesnt feel so expensive for them so they dont hesitate to execute things at premium. The rest of the world can only complain if their country dont even have a capable brand of their own.

If the hole was centered, it would be right in the way of any video/photo contents you'd be watching, but by putting it in a corner you have less chance of it obstructing your content (and more chance of it staying within the letterbox black bars).

Samsung is great at what they do. And they have great smartphones. But the CEO and the Company too NEED TO ASK users and customers for Features they WANT. That will ensure that Samsung is always making phones we want and adding more.

Gawd awful design choice. Putting a distracting eyesore on a screen around a front cam in which majority of users care for selfies 0.05% of the time.
Either find a better solution or don't do it all. Small upper bezel been fine for years. It'll be fine til u figure out the ultimate solution. Not this half-assed cyclops Frankenstein abomination.
