The best split screen / multi window mobile experience on a phone format device. They brought it first on the note and keep improving it. Samsung is the reason multi window is built into the Android os now.
Edge apps. For the amount of times non-users call this a gimmick it is immensely useful to have a calculator, contact speed dials, and screen clipping tools always available on top of what ever apps you are currently working in, removing the need to return to the home screen, launch other services, or having 3rd party apps run in notification bar. Or use the clipboard panel to keep a history of copied text to insert between whatever apps your are working in.

Wow, look at all the hate. Anybody with a serious job to do knows the benefits of a Galaxy device.
DISCLAIMER: I agree that most people shouldn't spend $1000 on a smartphone to scroll down on their favorite social-media or to watch youtube videos and memes.
It takes a certain amount of professional ability and talent to appreciate the features.
The SPEN from Samsung is not a gimmick, its the real deal. Artists/ photo editors know this.
Additionally, many contracts are emailed, not faxed anymore, making the 'Write on PDF" feature one the most useful things in my workplace.
You can output to a display and use standard USB devices like keyboard and mouse.
It runs Samsungs' version of 'OFFICE' that supports Excel, Word, and other office documents. It works %1000 better than a windows PC you might find in an average workplace.
Samsung pay is faster, and more secure than a chip or mag-stripe card, and works in more places than Apple pay. (I've used it on a vending machine without NFC)
Samsung devices can be repaired at a plethora of certified repair places that only use OEM parts from the MFG, and the parts are readily available, and more importantly don't void the warranty.

I for one like my Sammy flagships. It's unfortunate the cost but I've come to terms with the price vs quality I receive. Sure I can get a new chinese phone every 3 months or so and keep replacing but I like to hold onto my phone's for years and pass them onto my kids or keep as spares for family that don't have Samsung (cheaper chinese phones) for when they stop working.

At least Huawei offers decent midrangers for affordable prices.
Compared to other midrangers from other manufacturers which cost way more.

Whats makes significant difference between midranger and a flagship?
More add-ons, more features, more gimmicks, better quality and so on but maybe....
I run or have Moto X4 which is a decent midranger.
Despite the fact i have enough money to buy even Note 9 from Samsung or Apple XS Max i wouldnt.
If a midranger for much less money does same tricks as a flagship then there is no point to buy a flagship.
Fact is many people will change its phone every year or two thus having a 1000+ eur phone is waste of money.
