Verizon's Galaxy S9 and S9+ are now getting the Android 9 Pie update too

30 January 2019
The rollout starts just one day after the first carrier-locked units in the US got their taste.

Note9 User, 01 Feb 2019Have you tried downloading Android Pie with One UI manually... moreI did, still no update. Not even the January security patch (I'm still on the December one). The thing is Samsung released the update to the Exynos versions first, which I understand since that's their in-house processor, so it's easier for them to build software based on their own chip. But I have the Snapdragon version, which sekks onkly in the US and Canada. Sammy rolled out updates to US carrier-locked phones first, which pisses me off because all carrier-locked phones are full of bloatware and pre-installed apps that are specific to each carrier. It would've been much easier for them to just update all the unlocked phones first, just like what they did with all the international Exynos versions which have no bloatware at all. I just don't get them, why would they do something as stupid as that...?

Settings> Software Update> Dowload updates manually.
I did this today & it's there, although I'm postponing to checkout feedback 1st.
      N9 Exynos, U.K., Unlocked.

Anonymous, 31 Jan 2019nobody is telling you to buy, its comments like this that m... moreYou're tge one being the fool. I bought the phone directly through Samsung and have paid a premium for it and it's completely legitimate of me to demand the long-awaited update BEFORE carrier*locked phones get it. Unlocked phones are more expensive for a reason compared to phones that are carrier-locked because of software support. Also, the argument you mentioned about the Beta program is bull. First I don't want to risk my 900$ device getting bricked because of software in development, and second, let's say I wanted to sign up, but the 10k quota has already been met. 10k users is nothing, I'm pretty sure it would've been much better for Samsung if they made it open for everyone, as it would speed up tge process.

My battery went to shit with pie , expected the opposite though.

I did a inline update. Really went from 7-8hrs ost to 5-6.. guess I will really need a factory reset and start a fresh pie.

          Exynos v. S9.

But I hate how some apps now feel more crippled.
          -gallery
          -edge apps -maintnence is gone
-settings , some are missing or moved to developer section
-night mode doesnt change accordingly, even when I select that option in dev section
-bixby is dumber, but interface looks much nicer

Camera feels more snappy now, scene detection is good too. At least something

Really Samsung, you're ... morenobody is telling you to buy, its comments like this that make you look like a fool. saying your not gonna buy a great product because the unlocked diddnt get it first? thats asinine. especially when you could have gotten the beta months ago and basically have the update before anyone else.
