Anonymous, 16 Dec 2011Trust me. Its not dual Sim that will save rim. Its software... moreDual SIM is just one of those that i've stated to give it an additional push. The frequent state hopping individual is in need of one of these. It's really for corporate reasons here.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2011iphone, android, nokia and others use regular internet plan... moreyep but it still requires a data plan doesn't it?
BB charges a premium for their data plan because of the security they offer.
But point being if you do not want to pay that premium then why crib about it. Stick with whatever brand you are comfortable with and live and let live.
i've used Samsung R220, Samsung C100, Nokia 9300, Motorola V3i D&G, Motorola Ming A1200, HTC Pharos, HTC 4350, Blackberry 8900 and now a Blackberry 9780.
Also have a playbook, an ipad and an ipod at home.
With all the choices available to me as a consumer i am happy :) why does anyone want to wish a company to die or go bankrupt is beyond me.

If blackberry provides its messenger service free of cost and an additional 100+Gb cloud space, surely black berry will do better. This is my point messaging service bb is the best but at a cost,bb os is also very good, but when a number of online messaging service say a handfull of very good ones are out their why should some one pay for it.bb makes very durable handsets like nokia, like symbian os bbos is not named outdated.bb will do better in future,if they are ready to promote it as a user&pocket friendly phone, rather than as a business gadget.Have any body seen bb commercial, they sounds like they are selling wisdom?just like trying to sell a book on how to behave as a successfull person.

sorry to inform you but RIM ar the best phones regarding data encription and safety, that's why they do not migrate to others OS, because their OS is safe and you'll never get data theft from your phone, plus they target a different class of clients, mostly business.

Why all the hate? Sure they are not doing well but why wish them or anyone else for that matter to die? what wrong have they done to you?
As for the people cribbing about the necessity of a data plan to utilize the phone completely i wonder how iPhone users will use Siri without a data plan!
It bodes well for everyone for all manufacturers to thrive in a competitive scenario otherwise looking at a monopolistic situation with ios and android is just bleak.
every manufacturer goes through its ups and downs which is especially true in the mobile market.

The problem with RIM is the user is NOT buying the phone, but RENT the phone.
If the user decide not to pay RIM (not using RIM internet), the phone would be an expensive dumb phone. Even if the user have wifi access, the phone can't be use to retrieve email without PAYING RENT (use RIM internet).
So, this is why BB sux, and RIM going down.

Cod3rror, 16 Dec 2011RIM is finished, as is Nokia. They should both be smart and... moreYou guys settle for Galaxy Y and get all hot and excited with a crap Android system.. I have BB 9900 and a Samsung note and frankly I cannot see what all the fuss is about. My BB 9900 is 100% reliable and the Note is totally over rated for what it is - too hot, too much rubbish software, slow and is just average. I need BB for work, and if RIM got the software right on the tablet they would be OK. But frankly these are just a mobile phone at the end of the day. Superior marketing wins even is the product is just average.

If RIM wants to make profit, they should include Android OS in their bullet proof BB handsets.

[deleted post]Agree, here at Mexico RIM has been very popular among youngters and business people.
Maybe RIM will move to Latin America to continue alive, even if in Europe/Asia has no future, America market (LAT) is an strong one. Just Mexico, Bazil, Argentina, Colombia and some more can bring some good times to RIM...Nokia knows that and they still supporting fully LAT market.
