        Anonymous, 04 Feb 2019Where did you red those allegations? It comes direct from Google, Motorola, Nokia, Xiaomi, and LG. The internal codename was initially called "Project Silver" before it morphed into "Play Edition" and "AndroidOne".

        Unfortunately the same has happened to AndroidWear (aka WearOS) and AndroidTV, being dropped by Google internally. Sony (and Nvidia) are singlehandedly supporting AndroidTV, whilst it's practically Martial Law when it comes to WearOS.

        I hope Google changes their practices, their proprietary ecosystems should be as well supported as iOS or Windows. Sure enough, they cannot control an open ecosystem like AOSP, but they definitely can control closed ecosystems like; AndroidWear, AndroidGO, AndroidOne, AndroidTV, and AndroidAuto.

                Also AndroidOne Program has been cancelled by Google.

                It lives on in name only. Google is no longer supporting it, they are not pushing out updates. Updates only come from the OEM. Which begs the question, as to what really separates it from other SkinnedOS implementations. Essentially there is really no promise for timely updates or long-term support, at least nothing you can hold them accountable to.

                So I just say take caution when making your buying decisions.

                  Why?
                  1) HDR10 feature is NOT as 'super' of a feature as u think. When the display used is GENERIC IPS LCD made by BOE and other Chinese display maker, HDR10 is NOTHING but GIMMICK to make the display look 'better' by software algorithm.
                  Sharp's IGZO display, with 120Hrz regresh rate is MILES BETTER than HDR10 gimmick.
                  2) 'Better'? Show me the hard PROOF which stated that!
                  Zeiss lens is NO BETTER than Leica (huawei), Kodak (sharp), or Panasonic-made ones!
                  What makes "better' camera is how big its SENSOR size & the algorithm developed for its camera app.
                  3) LMAO.
                  Most Xiaomi phones have at least 2 year upfate (depends on how popular the device; the more popular, the longer soft support it gets)
                  4) 'Good'? How come?
                  All phones look the same nowadays, especially Foxconn-made ones!
                  'Good' Build Quality?
                  No Glass SANDWICH phones have 'Good" build quality (easy to scratch, easy to break, slippery, etc) EVER!
                  5) 'Good" audio quality?
                  That's the MOST ABSURD hoax I ever heard lately!
                  Wven the 'old' Nokia xpress music series' "audio quality" cannot be compared to Sony Ericsson's Walkman series, OR Motorola ROKR ones!
                  Today, when u talk about audio quality, 99% audiophiles will say LG or HTC!
                  6) Another Gimmick.
                  No matter what kind of soft, when the hardware is of cheap quality, the audio quality won't get much improvement. That's why LG introduced Quad DAC on their recent flagship (since v20)
                  7) Another USELESS Gimmick.
                  8) So? Nothing impressive.
                  99% mid-range Chinese phone have these feature, because there are RF chip embedded in cheap to Mid-range SoC.

                  And those who are thinking Nokia is Chinese product: 100% correct.
                  HMD / Nokia DO NOT make phones anymore.
                  HMD buys Nokia, which make HMD the parent company.
                  Nokia make an exclusive contract with Foxconn to make ALL Nokia-branded phones, including the DUMBphones.
                  There is suspicion that even its Android One is also developed by Foxconn or its related compsny.

                    It should be launched with 5G

                      30,000/- is too much for 3500mah battery, Least it should have 4000mah. Poco f1 is still value for money phone.

                          Dear GSMArena please do a blind camera test between Nokia 8.1, LG G7, Oneplus 6t, Poco f1, Vivo V11 pro, Asus zenphone..
                          Or you can atleast review Nokia 8.1 which is already 3 months old, instead of reviewing newly launched redmi note 7.

                              Every device is not perfect. But this offering at INR 30,000 is much better. Have LG G7 and Galaxy S8 on Android P ? Does Poco have OIS and better screen ??

                              Nokia 8.1 is Android One device and gurranted Android Q and R earlier than other. I think you will understand.
                              SD 710 is 10nm processor which is little inferior than SD 845. But it is not bad like you thought.

                              I think you have got earlier bad taste from inferior Nokia devices. But it is their current flagship offering.

Then you truly are livong in 2015 where only flagships had good performance but nowadays any modern Snapdragon 6XX is sufficient and good enough for majority of users. I have a SD660 phone it never stalled on me but the SD710 is in another league around SD835 performance so you clearly have either bad experience with previous midrange chips or just dont have a clue or are just a serious Asus,Poco,Oneplus,...fan

Talking about audio clarity, does this phone come with dedicated DAC like quad DAC of LG G7...

                                    Nokia is funny.. LG G7 is such a great phone and price is same ie 30000.. galaxy s8 is available for 30000.. Poco f1 with S845 available for 18000...why would a wise person buy this phone for 30000.. even if it's price is 25000, I recommend to buy Poco F1.. if you can spend more buy OP6t or honor view20 but never buy a Nokia phone..

                                      But what Nokia is offering at this price
                                      1. HDR 10 supported display(even oneplus, poco, asus do not support HDR 10).
                                      2. Camera better then oneplus, poco, asus, with carl zeiss lens.
                                      3. 2 years android update.
                                      4. Good looks and build quality.
                                      5. Good audio quality via headphone.
                                      6. OZO audio.
                                      7. 'Bothie' mode in camera.
                                      8. FM radio.

                                      And those who are thinking Nokia is a Chainise product, HMD Global company is owend by ex employees of original Nokia compnay.

                                        I would choose pocoF1 anyway. We don't fall for brand shit. I think it is the trend.
