Samsung Galaxy S10+ hits GeekBench again, Exynos 9820 scores improving

04 February 2019
The multi-core result is now above 10,000, some 800pts more than the S10 we saw a couple of weeks ago.

The SoC was rushed which resulted in some poor programming on the scheduler. Andrei admitted that himself in a later article, though he seems to have a downer on any Exynos SoC.

Furiounx, 04 Feb 2019Yes there is. It scored 12,000+ points, higher than an XS.I seriously doubt it.
      It will have SD855, right?
The multicore score of 12000+ is just too high for the chipset.

Snapdragon, Kirin and A processor are much better. Samsung always drink coffee while others work hard everyday to satisfy us

Just about beats the Kirin 980

DrakeX, 04 Feb 2019If these benchmarks are to be trusted and not just some clo... moreOnly the middle cores are A75 cores though. The M4 is a fully custom design and a much fatter core than the A75 or even the A76, which is why you see the kind of numbers on Geekbench.

Unfortunately, Anandtech tests using PC mark suite which is not good for Exynos CPUs due to some unknown reason. I don't really buy into those results to be honest.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2019Meanwhile multiple generations of exynos had a better gpuLike the Mali G72 MP18 graphics of the Exynos 9810 is destroyed by the Adreno 630 graphics of the Snapdragon 845?

Exynos(at least last years version) have schedulers tuned for Geekbench, but when shit hits the fan, come real world use, performance drops significantly and battery life plummets like Venezuelan currency.

If these benchmarks are to be trusted and not just some clock speed boost when it detects Geekbench, then Samsung has truly leveled up, their custom cores have been engineered well. This is the closest any smartphone CPU has reached to Apple's level. This is despite using the last gen A75 cores and 8nm LPP process. Of course, it might not translate to a much superior real-life performance but it seems to pave in an optimistic road. Let's hope its not the same problem due to its scheduler like in Exynos 9810.

My favorite android skins are One Plus and Samsung ones. Both are polar opposite but perform best in light and heavy skins respectively.

I didn't get the first part of your comment though. There aren't any leaked Geekbench scores for XZ4 right now. I would like to know if I missed something. I know there is a staggering AnTuTu score out there, but we can't compare them unless there is a leaked Geekbench score.

Still underwhelming in comparison to Sony Xperia XZ4. Drop the heavy skin already ffs.

Nice, but.... wait... this phone will have a hole in the screen.... #NotThisYearSamsung

Who cares about benchmarking. Real life usage matters the most. Even mid range processors are good enough for normal daily use, like messaging, social medias, emails and looking on websites. Been using 2 years old Snapdragon 636, i am more than happy. PUBG handled nicely. Spend your money for something more important.
