I'm an Android fan, but hope BT sues the hell out of Google. Google is becoming the largest, most predatory, most evil big brother company on earth. A company who can make an easy buck on a product that costs little to produce - software and advertising.

PS: BT has many innovations - a court case that Apple won recently was only because Apple had bought one of BT's patents. BT must have witnessed this and realised that other companies are cashing in, so they may as well too. If you wan't to complain, blame the US patent system.

Reading all about those suits...apple, samsung, htc, now BT...I'm coming to an idea!

I will patent the way i walk, and it will be something like this:

Walking, meaning, putting my leg one in front of another while moving forward in predefined or random path in sense of getting to certain place.
So all of you will be forced to innovate a new way of walking or you'll have to pay me for using my kind of walk! :))

Those companies holding patents and doing nothing for years should in fact be punished and penalized. They are keeping humankind deprived of new innovations and preventing others(google) to make good things.

I am of the opinion that companies with patents but has no plans to do anything with them in any substantial manner should actually lose them.

Companies using the patent system to make money all in itself is simply a leech, in the end causing greater cost to the end consumers. It's arbitrary and senseless.

It's actually called 'BT Group plc'... hasn't been British Telecommunications/Telecom for a while.

And to the people saying BT is a "turd" ISP - it's network runs 80+% of all UK connections. Just because Company X resells you a service, or has their own kit in your local exchange, does not mean it's not BT's network... ;)

Google really should pay for licenses, not just steal stuff and give it away.

i just read the content of some of the claims. Example:

According to the complaint, this patent covers the generation and transmission of "shortlists of sources of information dependent upon the location of a user", which lists "may relate to sources of information respecitng services, facilities, friends and transportation and may be generated in accordance with user preferences".

Are these guys for real? How on earth can you patent such a vague "technology" ?????
It is really sad that at the end of the day is still us paying the bills with increased prices or delays in getting IT
