especially the MotoMods were always very expensive,
mostly weak in tech and useless, more a gimmick.
Independent devices are better in tech, more compatible
and much more affordable.

Both Samsung GM1 and Sony IMX 586 are 1/2" sensors that are quad bayer (and equivalent) and significantly better than the tiny 1/2.55" sensor in Z3 Play.

I doubt the sensor is any bigger than the Z Play's. Night shots are going to suffer.

Anonymous, 06 Feb 2019Last time I checked the Z3 Play got rid of the headphone ja... moreThat 3000mah battery was so optimized that lasted 1.5 - 2 days + it came with a moto power pack mod in the box, you could go an entire weekend without charging it. The screen was also soooo beautiful.
Take the Motorola One for example, with Snapdragon 625, it runs super fast and battery last 2 days without a problem. Then you have a Xiaomi Mi A1 with the same specs but a way bigger 4000mah battery and can't make it more than 1 day.

George, 06 Feb 2019Higher quality materials, unique design and Moto Mods suppo... moreLast time I checked the Z3 Play got rid of the headphone jack, has a mediocre spec sheet for a high price and doesn't have a very large battery. Sure it might be a more premium device in terms of build quality but it isn't so premium in terms of functionality.
