From specs perspective this is the phone I have been long waiting for. Currently using A3 2017 but would like to upgrade already. I like the handy size of A3 but willing to sacrifice the little bigger size for better specs and phone. I like that S10e has flat display, rounded edges on housing (like iPhones). Punch hole could be smaller (black circle/bezel around camera) but I think its possible to hide it with suitable wallpaper and with customized upper menu (black background for tha camera part of screen). Using black background would make the punch hole camera blend in but display would still be from edge to edge.

Looking forward holding this phone in hand. Basically same size as S7 but much bigger screen (bigger screen-body ratio). I have big hands but S7 still doesnt seem very comfortable to use with one hand. Big plus for current A3. But as still no comparable new phones in same size, would need to sacrifice this comfort.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2019If that's the actual location of the power button/FP reader... moreI second this. Practicality should be first priority, not gimmicks

Just when you hoped the notch epidemic will soon go away, the company that proudly stayed off notches, comes up with an even worse and uglier solution. Guess the only way notches and holes will stop is of someone files a lawsuit claiming they OEMs are misleading consumers with screen size when in reality, the equivalent surface area is not available. They would put an end to notches, holes and curved corners hopefully.

I think this S10e can be a big hit for Samsung.

Lots of people found the S8 and S9 too expensive.
The S10e will be €100 less expensive as opposed to the S9 and €50 less then the S8.

A big group of people (judging by many comments on the internet) wanted to have a flat screen again. This is where the S10e comes in. You still want the curved screen, well there is the S10.

Advantages from the S10e over S8 and S9 at lower starting price point: dual camera at the back, double the storage (128 GB vs 64 GB), more RAM (6 GB vs 4 GB)

Only things that are missing from the S10(+) models: in-screen fingerprint scanner, third camera and more RAM/storage options.

Sidenote: this is only true if Samsung uses the exact same chipset (and clockspeeds), camera, screen quality and resolution, water resistantce,.. as in the S10(+).

Sidenote 2: it is still a steep price, I'm really aware of it. (And certainly the for S10(+) models...) but it's a good move from Samsung to offer the option to have a phone that's almost exactly the same as the really really expensive ones from the same line-up.
It's certainly also a move on Apple to compete with the XR, but I think it's done more properly than the XR

Lyndino, 06 Feb 2019Oh, I see. Thanx for clarifying. If it is in fact that hig... moreIf that's the actual location of the power button/FP reader, it is WAY higher up the phone than the power button on my S7. Holding my S7 now, the power button location works well whether I'm using my right hand (thumb sits comfortably on the button) or left (index finger wraps around comfortably from behind), but neither is true if the button was at the top like in that leaked photo of the S10e.

Also, this apparently means all S10e cases would need to have a full cutout for the button, otherwise the sensor probably won't register.

I personally don't care about what a phone looks like, functionality is what I do care about. This looks like a big stumble if the pics are accurate.

If it is in fact that high on the side I can see it being uncomfortable, should have left the rear fps.

Lyndino, 06 Feb 2019You didn't mean Galaxy S8 but you meant Galaxy S8?I didn't meant the GALAXY S8. Instead, I used the GALAXY S8 as a reference model as of how high or low the fingerprint sensor will be if a side-mounted fingerprint sensor was placed there, because of its similar size with the GALAXY S10e

Does anybody really thinks that something "leaked" from Samsung, Apple, Sony... Every single day!

See, if they'd considered small bezels, the battery sizes could have been good. Match the screen sizes to last year's S range.... They are dropping.

Anonymous, 06 Feb 2019Most smartphone buyers outside of China and India.I'd say that, around £400-£450 is affordable. Anything more and the monthly line rental is likely to hover around £50. I think the £30 is the affordable range.

Judging by that notch phone and the punch hole side by side, the punch hole looks way better without losing as much screen-estate.
What phone is that that has the notch?
