If...
You choose to hide top side you'll loose nearly 1 cm wide screen space.
Now I was waiting for xperia 4 but they f.kd up 3.5mm jack.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2019Mega pixel only is for how big you want to make the photo... moreWhen using a very small sensor (front camera) & pushed to higher megapixel (24mp) automatically stretched up & degrades quality, to cover it up most companies put a high sharpness, smoothening & noise reduction, make it looks worse & artificial.
Therefore i agree with the Samsung way to make it lesser megapixel for using a very small camera sensor. AF is a must, OIS is a bonus.
I dont like Huawei's implementation on front camera, but love the way they do in the rear camera.

Don't know about XA3U tho... But, it's always nice to add OIS to the front camera tho.

My old HTC 10 (2016) had OIS & AF on the front camera, it was dope. It took 3 whole years for a phone to come up with the feature again...

The front camera is really weak. Back camera looks horrible and the rounded design with a hole in the corner looks awfull. By the way curved screens are a lot worse than flat and easily to breaks.
If that s not enough they added wireless earbuds into the box to make people ready Samsung is going to say good bye to jack. And they will not create wired ones anymore.

Do notice that it only disable them, not remove them.

An average selfie quality, pretty much just like all Samsung phones. (A lot smoothening & blown background, but Mate 20 a bit better in dynamic range, as it AI HDR better than Note 9).
I'll take 12mp with AF anyday than my current 24mp setup. The best selfie camera for now only lives in Xperia, Pixel & Iphone.

Samsung 7mp cameras are way better than many 25mp chinese sensors and also better than oneplus.
i have s7 edge and the selfie cam is wide angle and after GCam , the pics are better than current flagships.

It's better to have a 10MP camera that is decent in low light, has OIS and 4k , than some 25MP camera that is terrible in low light, has disappointing dynamic range and whose photos look like water colours. Samsung is innovating and its good. Samsung should also give credit to Chinese OEMs, because that has helped improve its production and innovation cycle. This seem like a nen camera sensor so I am expecting decent to good selfie photos.
