Look, while not many people praised Samsung for introducing the 960fps super slow motion on their smartphones, we barely hear anyone saying that it's useless, but the same exact functionality on Sony phones got a lot of bashings, telling how useless it is and an unnecessary thing to have.
I mean, people are looking for innovations but they swipe away those that give them their wants and needs?
Imagine if Sony never produced this 960fps capable sensor, would Samsung even have it on their smartphones this year?

Absolutely hate this move towards narrower screens in the last couple of years. Serves no real purpose and does not make anything more convenient or user friendly.
The best resolution for smartphones is 16:9.. Videos, websites, reading content... everything is better compared to 'tall' displays. Heck, i even prefer the 4:3, especially for websites and office documents...

Hey sh!t people are complaining too much that the phone is too big? For fck sake is even smaller than the redmi note 5 the thing I'm concerned about its the apps, will they be optimized for that aspect ratio? Don't want black bars on all the apps I open

This phone is perfect for watching movies in 1080p.BluRay.x264.mkv format since it has a perfect fit aspect ratio of 21:9. But you have to take account of the very large file size which is normally 8GB - 12GB in size of just a single file.

Why the hysteria?
It may be launched with Oreo 8.0 but everything not yet to be confirmed yet. Sony could just launch it with Pie or Oreo 8.1.
Welcome back to the side fingerprint. It is a great news for the midrange phone to have this exclusiveness of former flagships. Even Razer phone is using this side fingerprint.
Sony might reserve the in display fingerprint for their flagship 2019. In my area, Sony is the only phone that will use Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset despite Oneplus is trying to break into our market. The only usual phones on the market would be Samsung, Huawei-honor, Oppo, and Vivo

I would like prefer a wider phones than the taller one. Is it a right decision for Sony to introduce this LG Chocolate BL40 wannabe to the very crowded market? Perhaps the new Z Ultra line up would be good for Sony entering the phablet markets.

They're trying to out the latest versions of android as far as possible (they probably have the widest lineup of smartphone models). Plus their update cycles has been increased as well as the security patches improved.

Looks interesting, but will it sell? Sony Mobile has already withdrawn its business from many countries.
If Sony's midrange phones aren't priced competitively against the Chinese midrange phones, they're dead on arrival.

Sad part is, we already got ANDROID 8.1 heck even ANDROID 9 but they still stick to 8.0?
There is already a SD67x heck even SD7xx series but still stick to SD660?
And gonna OVERPRICE their junk????? RIP Sony you wont be missed!!!

2520:1080 = 21:9, 07 Feb 20192520:1080 is 21:9 NOT 2560:108064:27 = 21/1/3:9
Maybe this is a new aspect ratio that Sony thinks will catch on? ie. a third wider than 16:9 which btw is a third wider than the old 4:3
