Why would be soft screen protection be good ?
Tempered glass over everything then when you need one.
Soft screen protection with holes is dumb. Especially with the under screen fingerprint reader.
Why remove the fingerprint reader from the back and then make a case still with hole in it?

Well if this is not a joke to hurt S10 sales. I would stick without a screen protector. My old Phone with gorilla glass 5 also still has 0 scratches without a screen protector. Just don't place it in the same pocket as you have your keys.

This is a polycarbonate or TPU case! What is wrong with you? Look at the thickness of the cover. Obviously if something relies on ultrasonic vibration, and is designed for glass, it would need to be perceived through a similar material. This indicates glass screen protectors will do just fine, and Qualcomm already confirmed this.

I guess we all need to hold our horses a bit.
We know Samsung's history, and keeping that in mind, I am still highly sceptical that Samsung will do something as stupid as this. As someone mentioned, the thing on the screen looks more like a thick TPU case than a thin film protector.
I highly doubt Sammy, out of all others, is the one that will pull something like this off.

People, no optical fingerprint reader will work through a tpu cover and if it does, then the reader is too unsafe to use because it's generating false positives. As for the facial recognition you get from Huawei Mate 20, it also won't work through a tpu cover. If you registered your face through one, congratulations on registering a blob. Plus, even with nothing to justify a hole, using a tpu cover over a luxury Super AMOLED display is simply wasting whatever image quality you're paying for. So stop the nonsense, the reader won't be using a hole with standard screen protectors.

That honestly looks extremely ugly. You'd be better off using the phone without a screen protector... or using a LifeProof case... or buying a different phone altogether.

Hate to say this but Chinese companies like oneplus xiaomi and huawei are killing it. Samsung and Apple became too greedy and they offer nothing exciting anymore

That is just stupid. Normal fingerprint readers on the back or side are fine. Display readers were not needed

It doesn't look like usual screen protector. Looks more like a TPU case which can be put on screen. Thats why it has a hole which makes sense. I think the regular film screen protector should work as usual.
This is totally misleading article. Look at how thick that thing looks. And also yes GSMARENA ... 99% of screen protectors from last 8 years have holes for front cameras. What's new in that .... lol in article he has written as if he is seeing for first time.
Clearly new design and option for front cases ... reminds me of old nokia 3100 days when such cases/protectors used to come where u used to stuff the phone inside those cases ... lol
