Expect to see Intel in mobile industry 4 - 5 years from now, they keep postponing all their mobile stuff.Next year they'll definately fail in the mobile industry like they did this year.

This phone looks great and a company like Intel, can take dramatically big steps to achieve its target, if they have already set. It will bring much better hardware at cheaper price.

8MP @ 15fps isn't revolutionary at all if u ask me. The same processing power is needed for full HD 3D. (2x2 MP @ 30 fps).

They don't have to enter the market properly, big guns like them should capture market swiftly than ever.
At least I won't have to depend on crap and idiot brands like Crapsung.
I for me will be eagerly waiting. 8+ years with their CPU, I'll gladly take a new section.

Great news! new "fighter" in mobile space!
And in very near future I see AMD producing mobile APUs ;)
Can you just imagine what we will have in 2-3 years? You come to home, put your mobile in to some holder and it's automatically charging, connected to mouse, keyboard (or bigger-23" touchscreen) and here you go...playing DOOM, Solitaire, working on some office app and so on. Great! :) Your PC in the pocket!

It's x86 and it's just a reference phone guys. 15fps at 8 MP resolution? Now that's some serious power!

Interesting since it was said to be as smooth as the iPhone, and this is Android we're talking about. I wonder how this reference would compare to WP7 smoothness.

to those say that they will be sued by apple its a reference device is for manufactures like samsung and htc to look at and see the system and how well the new chip performs. it will not be sold to the public directly by intel

It doesn't really matter how iPhone-y they look, these devices are reference only, just to demonstrate how the chip works. Intel could really contribute to the mobile market though, now they've stopped trying other designs and made a proper SoC.
