Sony Xperia 10 (aka XA3) will cost €350, the 10 Plus will go over €400

15 February 2019
Also, only the Plus will use a Snapdragon 660 chipset, the smaller Xperia 10 will go down a notch. The Xperia L3 will be cheaper but not cheap.

imparanoic, 15 Feb 2019generally console manuafacturers sell at a loss for the act... moreyup, which is the reason many chinese phone and samsung to a degree try to get rid of GooglePlaystore and use their own proprietary appstore as they will gain 30% of every transaction.
Hell, we used to do several steps just to install googleplaystore on xiaomi.

In this train of thought, people should not ask why sony phones are expensive, but why Pixel is expensive as pixel will gain profit from playstore earnings.

Though the best battery life on a Sony phone would still be the Compact, as it has significantly smaller screen and a not-so-much lower capacity.

Sony has a track record of keeping all their users' private information safe, while Chinese ones are often regarded as "cheaters" and are often involved in cases of information theft.

example, 5 years before PS VR, sony sold a 1080p head mount display HMZ-T3 at US$1000 (note it has not head tracking as it's not VR), but they can sell PS VR for around US$300 on the basis that they gain from software sales.

No. You cannot do it. You just believe with what they (google/sony) said, but you cannot ensure it by yourself.
Not only google and sony silently steal your information. But your telecom providers also do it.
They will gladly expose your data to chna/merica whenever required.

They rely heavily on sell volume because they cover back the loss with services(ps plus for online and stuff) and game revenues cuts.
Kinda like how Xiaomi doing with their budget phone and MIUI strategy. (but xiaomi has the benefit of being Chinese based company and government sunsidies on cost)
You did not want your phone to cost less but need to pay monthly subscription to go online right? Actually we have something similar, it's carrier subsidies phone but sadly Sony don't have many.

Though i will agree with you this phone is quite expensive for what it offer, if the Ultra has excellent screen it might worth it.

350 euros for 3gb ram, lol. Sony is clueless.

This translates to >28,000 INR! Who will be dumb enough to buy SD630 device at 28,000 if they can buy SD710 device for 26000 or SD845 device by adding just a couple of thousand rupees?
I hope Sony will launch this at sensible price in India. Hell even Samsung has learnt the lesson.
