For those who always ask: "and what about Symbian^1 devices?"
Please go and buy a S^3 device for the S^1 are too old to be supported. With the new sales you would do Nokia a favour and support them. Perhaps they would keep Symbian OS as their first OS then.

LOL! WP7 is not selling despite the huge marketing campaign set for Lumia 800, so now they simply don't know what to do. They cannot say "we go back to symbian", so they just drop the symbian name. People will think that it's a new OS from Nokia. They must be really desperate.

nokia,removing the symbian name doesnt make sense,since belle originated fromm symbian,buh itz feels good to cough it out*nokia belle* next itz *nokia carla*

It's good of Nokia to update this phone, despite having reached the end of its life.
some models that won't be getting ics: galaxy s, galaxy R, desire HD, Desire z, wildfire, motorola droid x, droid 2, x10, x10 mini

My next phone will be a symbian as I can see that Nokia is still making efforts to support Symbian.
Love you Nokia.
Considering Nokia 701 with preinstalled Belle.
have tried it and now I am convinced that Belle is the best for me in the next years t come.

1-2 months :) I can wait. Sold my blue N8 and got the bronze one just for the sake of updating to Belle. This phone is the most COMPLETE package yet. Some have better specs, but Nokia maps out of the box and offline caching are a HUGE plus that Nokia did not take full advantage of. SII too plasticky and echo problems, Razr too large, iPhone too locked down. Prada 3.0 not available yet. N9 = downspecced N8. HTC sensation reception issues. Lumia overrated. Arc horrible plastic and battery life. I kept my N8

Maybe they rewrote the codes and decided its not symbian anymore.
