Xperia active gets properly tortured, lives to tell the story

21 December, 2011
The smartphone was still alive and kicking after being hit, dropped, dragged and run over by a truck.

AnonD-5449, 21 Dec 2011look at that lockscreen! where is apple suing? and to al... morethe brand 'Gorilla Glass' is owned by neither sony ericsson nor apple, they simply sell toughened glass for cellphone makers. So it doesn't matter who uses it, they can't start patent war with that.

AnonD-5449, 21 Dec 2011look at that lockscreen! where is apple suing? and to al... moreExcept it's not Gorilla glass, as it says on the SonyEricsson site:-

"Durable mineral glass screen with wet finger tracking"

                      Source:-

                      http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/mobilephones?cc=au&lc=en#productfamily=xperia

Gorilla glass is nothing special, it's a brand name for a type of glass which is also made by other manufacturers besides Corning.

AnonD-5449, 21 Dec 2011look at that lockscreen! where is apple suing? and to al... moreMy nexus one had gorilla glass, and my friend's one too. It broke. Somehow easily. There are revisions of gorilla glass. Plus, even if your phone has gorilla glass, I don't think it'd survive the water or the car tests...

and to all who praise sony ericsson for this, the glass is Gorilla Glass, and not made by Sony Ericsson. The same glass is used on a lot of phones, sad?

Well, he cracked the screen a bit. With wrench i guess. That's still better than almost anything you can buy.
