Heat soak is still a problem though, just like any other phone.

Vegetaholic, 20 Feb 2019Gaming phone my bum :) there is no such a thing as gaming p... morewhat sets the razer phones (1 and 2) apart from other "gaming phones" is the 120Hz screen. once you use it you'll see that there is nothing in the android world quite like it. touch registers are precise and no latency at all, and motion is very smooth. likewise the individually amplified dolby atmos certified front firing speakers can simulate surround sound unlike any other smartphone. the speakers have good dynamics and punchy bass. those 2 are what sets the razer phones apart from the competition.

Gaming phone my bum :) there is no such a thing as gaming phones on android. They all run on same chiosets and same games with same additional add-on hardware buttons. It does not make a gaming phone. For what it matters Pocofone is gaming phone too, with third of Razer phone price. It is not just enough plaster Razer logo and price to smartphone to call it gaming phone and expect people will fall for it. You need to invest much more to make it true gaming phone. No wonder it failed

Ok maybe the dual front facing speakers does stand out too as it sounds great, but what about other parts of it? The camera especially, when it's being compared with other high-end flagships from the same price point, it's straight up mediocre in my opinion, even if it's using a dual camera setup, and this brings me to the next point: pricing. The fact that it's priced as much as other high-end flagships, clearly other high-end flagships would be the more appealing choice as it is better overall. If it's priced lower, things might turn out differently, they might get to sell more as compared to now, because on different price points u have different competitors, that's for sure. All in all, the biggest concern I have for them is their pricing. If they want to sell more smartphones even with a mediocre camera, then they better lower their pricing, and also have the 3.5mm headphone jack included, given the fact that it's a gaming necessity

There's a reason why u could play games smoothly even on a iPHONE 6s, on games like Fortnite, because clearly, they're far more optimized as compared to ANDROID

Too bad they alienated Nextbit Robin fans when they bought the company and didn't make good on the promise to maintain support. Although the Robin market was a tiny one, many of us would've bought a Razer phone to support the former Nextbit staffers, but the community was very vocal about their feelings of betrayal after the buy out and lack of support, and when no answers came, decided to boycott Razer as a result. Too bad.

And i would like to have one but its not available here in Slovakia so i had a bad luck.
Such an awesome phone with best screen and best speakers which ever any phone had on the market.

With Razer Phone unconfirmed to be dead, it means that Project Linda (the laptop body powered by the Razer Phone) is indefinitely shelved. Project Linda's consumer reality depended on how successful Razer Phone is.

Kiyasuriin, 20 Feb 2019Not surprised. while it's awesome to have high FPS rendered... morethere actually is an option on both razer phone 1 and 2 to set refresh rate to 60hz, 90hz, and 120hz, or you can also set it for each individual game on the inbuilt "game booster" app. it is also not fps, rather the refresh rate- fps is to the gpu while refresh rate is to the screen.

Mobile games are under the heat right now among gamers.. especially those PC gamers. Thinking that gaming companies are only trying to cash in.
"Do you guys not have phones?" - Diablo Immortal. Or C&C rival, or Alien blackout.
To make a phone, directed at gamers, to play mobile games (Which they hate).. is a bad combo for now. Razer should continue to make PC related accessories.

Not surprised. while it's awesome to have high FPS rendered display it's really just a flagship that has fast rendered screen.
if they had the headphone jack. and scalable to 60FPS when not in gaming mode it was a great device.

Ironically, I was considering a Razer phone 3, because the snapdragon 855 is gonna have good battery life, and the speakers have high volume which is important for me on a phone.

I would've gotten their 2nd phone...had the battery been better than 4,000 mAH with that refresh rate. Their phones are great (especially speaker-quality) but they just didn't make it...100% global like they should have.
A Razer phone 3 with a 6,500 mAH battery, slightly larger screen to shrink the front speakers a little (while retaining its powerful quality), headphone jack, and SnapDragon X55 chip and you got yourself a winner.
