I've opted out of location tracking and now Facebook Marketplace will not work. It takes me to the "Where are you located?" page and when I pick "not now" it goes to the Location/map page and will not let me out of there no matter what I click. I can now only view Marketplace on my laptop. :(

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2019I would rather have US companies spy on me than the Chinese... moreTrue but them Chinese buffet be the bomb yo and who knows maybe egg rolls will be the next pizza. I love Facebook because they always tell the truth and flag fake news and there's no way anyone can troll.

Why not just allow users to decide for themselves if they want the app or not instead of forcing the app into the smartphones like Samsung with no uninstall option?

What I hate the most recently about Facebook is that ads are now being injected into the videos. C'mon Facebook! You are not a video streaming company in the first place. Don't inject ads and disrupting the watching experiences lie Google.

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2019Seriously? The option was available in iOS since forever! That's iOS. You can't compare it with Android which track anything and everything. Sometimes I envy iOS users.

They're done with your location data, just give them a few years so they can gather enough data to plan out the rest of your lives.

I'm sorry but I won't ever install the FB app.
World of permissions and not enough use.. in fact, its a damn distraction.
I use FB in browser.
And they're sabotaging mobile browser experience:- Videos have started jerky playing, A blue bar hides the ever accessible "Requests/ Messages/ Notifications" Blue Bar on top unless you're on timeline, and so on....

I uninstalled the Facebook apps except WhatsApp and Instagram. And then i used firefox browser to browse facebook after enabling every protections available in firefox browser and installing adblock plus, after that facebook start to behave abnormally, while other websites work flawlessly. And i am not getting anymore post. While scrolling down, facebook shows 'no more posts to show now' and also started to bombard me a friend suggestion mostly female persons

"This basically restricts the location tracking to when you are actually within the app and stops when you quit the app." Yeah, sure. Or it just makes you believe so. If you really have anything to hide, a smartphone in your pocket it's not the best idea. It can incriminate you easily.

They've had years to collect location data, only care about the user once it's no longer as profitable to track you. Too little too late, wouldn't reactivate Facebook if they paid me
